in the last 8 years Mayorga has 3 wins, one of which was against michael walker who had lost 5 of 6 recent fights. his last win over a ranked guy was Vargas and he had lost 2 in a row by KO to Mosley and that was almost 5 years ago!
Mayorga will be 39 in Nov. anyone who thinks this would be "entertaining because mayorga would call him funny names at the press conferences" are just idiots.

Mayorga beats Bundrage. I though he gave a good effort against Cotto and Canelo is not on Cotto's level yet.

 

What fight did you watch where you saw him giving Cotto a hard time. He couldn't hardly hit Cotto.

 

The last guy Mayorga beat was winless in 3 straight fights before facing Mayo, and has'nt won a single fight in 9 attempts since them. Before that, Mayo's other win was a sd over shot to **** Vargas in 2007. I wonder how you can get a world ranking and a title shot this way. Mayo has also been brutally stopped 4 times. This fight stinks. Probably the worst opponent they have mentioned.

 

Can you imagine going to CBS, having a countdown show etc and then a guy like Trout or Lara stinking out the joint!

Canelo v Mayorga is good for boxing. It's guaranteed entertainment for however long it lasts. But only if its CBS...Showitme or PPV then yeah it's crap.
