That's not being fair.

It's a flawed premise. The premise being that Monte just happened to look **** opposed to Cameron and this particular stylistic matchup making him look like ****.

He looked like **** because Cameron didn't plod forward like david tua in what constituted a one dimensional and predictable offense. Cameron had done his homework. He was able to get his range right fire that jab up the center and time that right hand over the top against the taller opponent. Monte is no master boxer but instead a crafty and game veteran. "he had no movement" Again this wasn't the tua fight. Tua plodded forward giving Monte the chance to simply pivot and turn. Cameron took the outside often and fired that jab as Monte plodded foward. Cameron had the edge on timing throughout the fight. Monte Barett has always been a flawed fighter and Cameron was well prepared and able to take advantage of this.

 

im not knocking Cameron, but Barrett did look ****, his legs had gone before the bell rung, ignore what shane was doing and watch Monte's footwork, there was none.

Monte is 41 years old, sorry theres no way he was prime tonight, still he was expected to win and still have too much for cameron and he didn't. Cameron did look good tonight too though

 

Again it's an absolute flawed premise. There is no way you can discern his legs were 'gone' before the bell rung. You can't ignore who was infront of him, the challenges posed, and his course of action. How a fighter behaves and 'looks' is largely determined by who is standing opposite him. Countless examples throughout history show us this. His footwork wasn't 'there' because it wasn't a plodding david tua coming straight forward with an appaling workrate and pisspoor timing at his advanced age. David Tua who has all time great PUNCHING POWER and thus provided motive opportunity and motive to simply turn and stay elusive. Cameron was drifting in and out of range and timing his left jab up the center and Monte couldn't quite work him out and land that chopping right hand the way he wanted to and he looked clumsy accordingly. Employing footowork is nice and all aslong as you have worked out distance, timing, and a course of action. When Barett was pressing the action on the front foot he was eating jabs up the center and thus he become tentative at points. His stuck in the mud clumsy appearance doesn't need to be attributed to him being gone before the bell rang.

I never said Monte was in his prime did i? I don't think THIS Monte is any different to the Monte that beat David Tua. He simply struggled and failed to adjust to a vastly different stylistic matchup and you are simplifying this with a not so nuanced understanding and summary of events.

I wouldn't say Barrett looked ****. He looked alright. Early on they were both fighting a bit nervous getting rid of the tension and feeling each other out. Barrett did get tagged (I think it was in the 2nd, can't remember) and went half a round on the bike while he gathered composure again. But Cameron didn't know he had him hurt.

But the next round Barrett looked like he was starting to loosen up despite not being 100%. Cameron was circling the wrong way, and Barrett was throwing a bit more. That's why I thought it could ave gone either way. I thought Cameron was going to revert to his old style and end up walking into right hands. While Barrett looked like he knew he was a bit hurt so started to let the hands go a bit more. Then crack. All over. Sweet ****ing punch. Timed perfectly. I honestly thought Barrett would have been a lot stronger if the fight had gone on from there.

 

Neither did the promoter, hence the reason he allowed Regional WBO to assign all the junket boys in the world. It was never gonna be a judges' decision

 

i think Vocal needs to be farked off from boxing, did anyone notice he was giving barrett the 10 count, could this fckwit not see the guy was in la la land? he should have waved the fight off. Infact if you watch the highlights you will see Vocal counted all the way to 10 then waved off the fight, wtf kinda ref counts a bloke out to 10 when he is in la la land ? saftey of boxers is paramont but this ref didnt seem to give 2 fcks.

Watch the video and watch how barretts head bounces off the canvas, this is a disgrace for a ref to count all the way to 10, it should have been waved off as soon as his head bounced off the canvas. utter disgrace, shame on your brad vocale you scum bag fck.
