I agree with snakefist that Pac actually does very well inside, especially with uppercuts.

However, his physique seems to favor an outside game. Even though his arms are relatively short, he's somehow able to use their maximum leverage, plus his strong calves help support that unique style.

Lots of fighters are great on the inside, but far less are great from the outside, so why fight their fight?

Erik Morales did, and manny could do nothing about it.

There are many times when manny just stands there in close range with his Joshua Clottey imitation guard then takes an uppercut to his dome. I'd take a bit of inside fighting ability, so I could do something at that range over being hit with uppercuts.

manny is not an outside fighter. When have you seen him box behind the jab and use it to score points? As many have pointed out he likes it mid-range.

Manny has 0 inside fight game. He doesn't try to fight on the inside and he has absolutely no inside fight game. He is very overrated, especially by his ******* fans.

You gotta be kidding me, footwork is a big piece of the pie. If you have boxed before, you would know that there is "footwork" involved on inside fighting. You do know they teach you that when you train? Or wait, you've never boxed so you wouldn't know.:patsch You just like to give blowjobs to Manny and swear up and down he beat Marquez but beat Bradley.:patsch

Fair enough, but IMO, anything that's not up close & dirty is "outside."

    - And especially for Manny, since his arms are on the short side. Mid-range IS his outside game. It's just semantics, my point still stands.

Floyd is over rated by his radical and overly biased fans......Ali, Leonard, Louis and all the other greats had the same issues where their most devout fans pleaded to anyone who will listen that their guy was the best to have ever done it.....of course we know that's not true, but try telling the fanatics that?.....I gurantee you they'll come up with 100 reasons why their fighter is the 2nd coming of the great Ray Robinson or Homicide Hank or even Willie Pep......

At the end of the day......the fighters with the kind of fans I'm talking about, have these fans for a good reason......they are truly great. Not at all god like or immortal like some would love for you to believe, but "great" in terms of having a stellar ring record.

And Pac does have infighting skills.....its very unfair to compare him to other fighters who excel in that one area knowing that Pac had a certain style where fighting in the pocket would highlight his natural fighting style. Pac can fight on the inside....he did with Marg....very well but he knew when to get out.

morales didn't beat up pacquiao on the inside.

morales used jmm's gameplan and added to it.

make pac overextend himself coming in and then make him pay.

i think the opponent clinching benefit tyson tbh.

he does his damage coming in..... when he does get in the opponent clinches..... tyson gets a few seconds break......ref breaks them up......

now tyson gets to come in again where he was the best at. in between the outside and on the inside.

i wish pac did that too. once he gets inside stay there until the opponent clinches or breaks away.

especially since pac doesn't know how to cut off the ring , he should stay inside and work as long as he can instead of giving opponents opportunities to run (which they get since he goes in and out)

also pac gets tagged a lot on the way out.

most of time pac gets in clean enough.....but when he's on the way out that's when he eats punches.

    young pacquiao. late 90's. pre-roach.

he's NO Julio Cesar Chavez but we see him fight on the inside pre-Roach.

kinda sloppy but those are decent body shots and good inside work in this fight. go watch the full fight , not just this youtube highlight.

he worked makelim hard on the inside on the ropes , he got tagged a few times but he was doing damage on the inside.

no right hook. no inside fighting. no uppercut. everyone says this stuff but it's just not true.

he threw rights with abandon , he threw uppercuts , he worked inside....before roach. roach made him stop those things.
