I would put Floyd and Toney ahead of him (though Toney doesn't really count if we're talking his skills of today). Rafael Marquez is another dude past it but clearly a genius on the inside. Salido is very good on the inside! But no argument from me here, Ward is great on the inside, he's a strong dude.

    Ward whups Calzaghe btw.

Andre Ward v.s. Calzaghe is the world await.

But wait! Mayweather is better than Ward for infighting technique.

Yea u could throw a handful a sand at moreno and would still miss dude is slick.

I think matthysse's body work is good as **** he pressures very well from the, inside but I agree he needs to be at midrange to get the full effect of his punches.

I really like chavez ability to impose his will on the inside. But skill wise idk but the left to thebody is nice an im not even a fan

I dont understand why in fighting has sorta died. You gotta hhave huge nuts I guess

Not at all, just very observant, especially when replays of his mugging show more than a tad bit off muffing and pushing the opponents face with the gloves instead of concussion/impactful punches.

What the **** do you call that in-fighting?

There is no infighting when you clinch, then use your elbow as asepartionandthrowing a punch immediately. it is plain dirty and ugly to watch.

wow. u write **** articles and DKSAB too?

Ward is levels ahead of Moreno in the technique area.

Moreno is more of a guy with good athletic ability and pretty much does what comes natural.

Just like Ward, Floyd doesn't use the same strategy for every fight. Sometimes he sticks and moves (Oscar, Marquez) , other times he presses the attack and fights on the inside (Judah, Corley). Overall he's more comfortable than Ward on the inside because he has better reflexes, his punches are shorter and smoother. Ward can be a bit stiff sometimes.

shutting down two guys that don't know how to fight on the inside doesn't make him the best at fighting on the inside.

i'm probably going to catch a lot of **** for this....but i think jcc jr has better offense on the inside than ward. wards defense on the inside is superb.

No big argument from me on this one. . . I still would favor Ward more on the inside. . . But it's 50/50 for the most part.

Chavez Jr. is a TANK on the inside. . I'm a MUCH bigger fan of Jr. . But if Ward and Jr. fought, and they very well might because they're pretty much the same size. . . at least 50% of that fight would probably take place on the inside, and I just don't see Jr. getting the better of it. .. I see Ward shutting down Jr.'s power shots on the inside, and countering him flush with his own.

Ward is a joy to watch on the inside. He can stand in the pocket, hit, and not get hit. Any young fighter looking to get into the sport would be well served watching video of Andre.

Ward would use that inside technique to beat Joe Cal in a close decision, IMO.
