    Oh ****, you're in luck!

Rau’shee Warr.en repping Team USA at 52kg. :good :patriot

Very seasoned and skilled amateur. This is his third Olympics, and he's expected to medal this time being favored against much of the field.

The two most likely to "go for gold" and join Andre Ward as the only Americans to do so this decade/century/millennium are:

Jose Ramirez, 61kg (lightweight) - a prodigious boxing wunderkind

    and

Marcus Browne, 81kg (light heavyweight...same division Ward competed in) - a swarming southpaw bruiser.

The overwhelming fave at 91kg (super heavyweight) is London's own home-grown Anthony Joshua.

Teddy Atlas is quite high on him and sees him as an eventual savior of the barren post-K2 division.

In case you all think I'm messing around...

Check out Rau'Shee in a battle of supersonic speed against Gary A. Russell (National Golden Gloves quarterfinalist and younger brother of Gary Russell Jr.):

    [yt]ejH5U37hoj0[/yt]

    Rau'shee is in the red.

In his 57-11 amateur campaign he defeated Russell both times they met...and dropped close decisions to current standouts Guillermo Rigondeaux, Jesse Magdaleno, and McWilliam Arroyo. Never been stopped.

Here he is styling on Carlos Ortiz during the World Series of Boxing (which was technically the amateurs but conducted under a ruleset that is much closer to professional):

The only downside to Rau'shee is that he's buddies with Adrien Broner. :verysad However, that friendship did yield some comedy gold when he flamed Hank Lundy (as big a loud-mouthed clown as Broner) with some vicious tweets:

It's just because Joshua is so lacking in international competition and is as raw as they come. Him getting to the World Am. final was a massive shock and a remarkable result. It'll take some luck of him to win (some helpful hometown judging along the way :yep) but he can do it.

No-one should have him as overwhelming favourite though.

No. Medzhidov, Omarov, Dychko, Savon are all as likely or slightly more so and guys like Cammarelle, Pfeifer, Yoka are all close too. Calling him a overwheling favorite would be the equivalent of Brits also claiming that Haye is a ATG HW.

60 kg has Lomachenko, Toledo, Valentino, Conceicao.

81kg has Mekhontsev, Cruz, Ward, Gvozdyk, Niyazymbetov, Rasulov. Browne has no shot at Gold.

Nothing a few robberies couldn't solve. :yep

If Joshua does somehow manage to win gold he'll get crazy money for a novice, instant stardom in UK.
