:deal agree. I think whilst both fighters are 1 dimensional, Quarteys jab would be a major factor in this fight. And whilst Trinidad is the bigger puncher , Quartey hits hard enough as well to keep Trinidad honest. It's def a pick em, but ever since Quartey was champ Ive thought he had the beating of FelixTrinidad.
That's not an excuse. Tito was at 147 for a long time... Why he never got around to fighting Quartey AT ANY given time is beyond me, and why he waited until Whitaker was way past it, even though they were champions together for many years in unexcusable.
That's very true, tito was there a lot longer and didn't come close to facing the competition oscar did in such short time to boot
u can't be serious? some of oscar's biggest wins were trinidad leftovers. felix beat more young/hungry undefeated fighters.
Sorry man but its absolute BS... There were several top rated 147lbs fighters during Tito's run. SSM, Ike Quartey, etc...
I love Ike. I think his lack of punch output against faster handed, power-punchers would tell the fight. Trinidad was just that so, I'll say a decision for Trinidad...
who did tito face? Oscar's left over in pernell? The man oscar fought when pernell was rated #1 p4, his first fight at 147. Oscar had wars with quartey and mosley, 2 fighters tito didnt go near. that alone makes Oscar's resume better.
alot of peole forget to mention gonzalez, oscar faced him in his peak, undefeated. i think this was after the pernell fight, actually right before pernell for light welter title. gonzalez was very, very good
Left overs were common for both. And that's an awful term, just because you lose to an elite fighter, it doesn't card you as a left over you muppet. Oba Carr?
