I used to see him knocking out a lot of guys but I have not seen him KO anyone since the Cotto fight 2-3 years ago. Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, JMM, and Bradley all could take his punches.
Question is, aside from Margo who was a very big guy, when has the others have been stopped themselves?
This, they're all durable, and pacquiao is a smaller guy fighting in a bigger weight class. I think 2-3 years younger, Pacquiao would have stopped Bradley and finished off Mosley. So age / decline is a factor also.
^^^ This. people pac is no GOD. He is not going to just KO everyone atsch. TS you realize the fighters you just mentioned are very hard fighters to stop?
People misjudged his power because of how Hatton and Cotto(e) played right into his hands, especially Hatton. Think about what happened before those fights. He was able to hit Diaz with everything, but it still took plenty of accumulation to stop him. Oscar got hit with everything like Diaz, but his knees never once buckled. Then look at what happened after the Cotto(e) and Hatton fights. margarito(e) fights like an idiot and ended up paying dearly. Smaller, in comparison to his opponents in recent years, Juan and Timmeh are proof that his power isn't some ol **** George Foreman boom as long as you don't fight the wrong fight.
Power is one of the final things to go. Seeing as how he still has his speed it's not like his age has taken away his power. In fact, it's common for aging fighters to sit down and put more power into their shots.
In my opinion. He was juicing since around the DLH fight. He produced a series of phenomenal - and almost literally unbelievable - performances until getting called out on it a couple of years back by the Mayweather camp and others. Then he either stopped or switched to something less detectable or less effective, and since then he has not been the same fighter. He is not the same fighter now that did what he did to DLH, Cotto and Hatton, and there's more than just age related decline to it.
When boxers move up in weight they tend to lose power. Pacquiao is no exception. This is not saying that he's now feather fisted. However, at anything above 140 maybe 135 or even 130. (Hatton was on his last leg, and Daiz wasn't exactlay a world beater at 135) His power has decreased. The same can be said of Mayweather too. Probbly starting at 147. At 5′ 6½″ and a reach of 67". Pacquiao is a pretty good sized boxer through super featherweight. His size/height at these weights gave him a natural leverage that he dose not have any more. I would describe the curent power of Pacquiao the same way I'd describe Mayweather's: Respectable.
Power doesnt LEAVE once u get older dumbass. matter of fact, when u hit your 30's thats when u become the most Physically strong in your life. AKA more punching power just ask Randall Bailey
SO WILL YOU say that Mike Tyson in the Lewis fight actaully had MORE one punch KO power then in his prime ? in your opinion ?
