    IMO, Louis over Schmelling. It was far more than a boxing match. What gets overlooked is that Louis lost the first fight decisively. Also, that this was the boom of the radio age and the first major sporting event carried live around the world. We take it for granted nowadays to watch a fight from Germany or New York, it was unthinkable just years before this fight.

    Revisionist history. Gomez was favored.

    Because Sanchez whooped his ass doesn't take from the victory. And it's 4 LBS for christ's sake. Gomez sure didn't seem concerned, talking all that **** about Sal being feminine. He ate that mother****er's punches without changing his facial expression and put his ass out.

    the thing is leonards win over hagler is controversial some people had hagler winning.. so leaonard cant get full credit 4 that win.. coz some people had him losing..

    If Leonard beat '82-'83 Hagler, I could see it at #1. Still great, nonetheless.
