My missus knows little about boxing but she's requested we watch the fight tomorrow. I never mentioned it, she asked me.

Not seen any of Jones but the Quali win makes me think he really has something to him. Not been matched the easiest either when he was coming up. Still expect kell to win but not 100% in my opinion.

Jones is gonna try and make it a fight early on, Brook would need to stay focused and counter using reflexes. Good fight.

The only reason I give Jones a chance is the fact Brook is a lot easier to hit than the pundits like to admit.

:rofl:rofl 'And he's ripped' like that's added reason.

Jones coming on a badman flex, Kell dropped a little bit of head on him there. Kell looks nervous. Nerves can be a good or bad thing for different fighters...

Think it's gonna be a fantastic fight, Think some like to overlook Brook's opponents so when he wins they can down play it. This guy's not been dragged over to pad a record he's a dangerous opponent IMHO.

Brook should win but it's not a gimme unlike the Hatton fight where i soon no way for Hatton to win bar some WWE style ambush from his Brother while ref tends to the Magic Man . For me the Hatton fight was a sideways step in Kell's career long term but this is a positive step. Someone with a different type of style and attributes.

Good match up for him, Jones for me is operating just outside of world class level. He's solid enough and mixed in decent enough company. I'd say he's a gatekeeper type at this weight..

Ripped to **** can mean that he's struggled with weight....Ripped is the dumbest method of analysing a fight, but I wouldn't expect anything less from the OP

Anyone catch Nelson on ringside a bit surprised about the comments on Witter. He was right on some part but seemed to be taking digs at Witter to big up Brook a bit which I found strange thought they were mates and all.

Can't remember it to well but basically said Junior was great at Euro level knocking people out regularly. Then when he moved up he didn't have the same Killer instinct that Kell has shown. Witter in my opinion up to this point in Kell's career had much more one punch power P4P than Johnny was letting on. He went on to say a bit more but don't want to type it as I can't really remember. It was about him when he got to world level and not staying there. johnny did also mention that Witter was a bit more defensively in the ring which I agree with towards the end of Witters career. He was always setting up something rather that Kell who is on the front foot but still countering maybe that is what he meant by killer instinct.

After that from what I can remember he basically put Witter at the bottom of the Ingle recent champions. Putting himself, Naz and Brook ahead of him. Again my memory is going here which isn't a great sign at my age

Thanks for that mate....it does seem an odd thing for Nelson to say given the supposed relationship (no homo). Witter certainly had more one punch power at Brooks age, the rest is just a matter of opinion I suppose. I can see Brook getting beat by a fringe contender but I don't think that Jones is the man to do it.

 That was my thought at the time as well. Found it a bit strange for them to bring up Witter on Sky sports news actually not Ringside to build up the fight. Either way I just seen it as selling Junior short to build up Kell which at this stage is pointless.

Agree with you on Kell, I think he's a good fighter and will pick up a strap but If someone comes along who is a genuine contender I think he'll struggle plenty of time to develop though. Nice to see an Ingle fighter who isn't too overly dependent on reflexes as well.

Shows what a ****wit Nelson is. Witter was a huge puncher. He almost had N'Dou out in 2 rounds and N'Dou only got beaten by the very best at that point in his career and Witter had him in far more trouble than Cotto or anyone else.

Witter starched guys with one shot when he planted his feet, won a world title off Corley, battered Harris and as a green, negative and overawed youngster went 12 with Judah after taking the fight at a weeks notice. Not to mention beating Kotelnik and losing a SD to Bradley when he was 34 and already well past his prime.

Brook has beaten Matthew Hatton and an ancient version of N'Dou.

Brook is the more technically sound boxer, and uses the jab much better than Witter. But he hits with FAR less power and with his chin, we don't know as he has never been in with a top level opponent.

To put Brook ahead on talent is one thing, to place him above Witter on achievements or power is ****ing ******ed.
