    Wrong.

A lot of the shots were breaking through his guard and having an effect on him, but he wasn't "all but out" until that shot at the bell.

You don't get a 10-8 round for a thirty second flurry of unanswered punches where the opponent literally has his guard up to block the entire time. (even if there's serious power spilling over past that guard)

Without a knockdown there needs to be a lot more domination to secure a 10-8 than what Abdusalamov managed in that final half minute.

    Byarm won the first 2:30.

    the power is real

did you see by how much he was missing larry holmes byarm?

wladimir would smack him with the jab for a few rounds and keep him stumbling around the ring. then we'll see what kind of steam he has on those shots.

one thing is certain, the kid has a ton of power.

Nah. It wasn't like he was doing much before that flurry. 20 secs of domination shouldn't get you a 10-8.

    :patsch

No, he did not. . . It was close enough, but Mago was still landing hte cleaner, harder shots, and catching most of Byarm's punches with his guard.

But those last 30 seconds were brutal enough to make it a 10-8 round, ARGUABLY. . . Of course, tehre's no "right or wrong," but it would be justifiable for a judge to score that 10-8.

Yeah, but that was within the last twenty seconds of the round. Up until then, Byram had controlled the round. Since he didn't go down, it goes down as a 0-9 round. Irrelevant, though, given that Abdelsalamov finished matters in the second.

    Not that subjective.

Byarm was trapped in the corner, it was a bad spot and he was in trouble - but that doesn't make it a 10-8. It isn't like his hands were down and he was absorbing flush bombs full on for thirty seconds. THAT might warrant a 10-8 without a KD. Or, if it was the same type of barrage in the corner but lasting much longer than thirty seconds.

It should when the guy is ****ing out on his feet, and if not for the end of the round, would have been done. . .

    Correct.

For a 10-8 with out a KD, there has to be some serious and sustained OWNAGE going on, likely for most if not all of the round.

    that wasn't it. :yep

    this is pro boxing.

he can win the first 2:50 of a round, if you nearly kill the man in the corner the fact that he stayed on his feet is academic.

the ropes probably kept him up after that last shot, but i dont even care to look. i dont need to look. that beating he took was enough.

    that's a 10-8 round.
