THere's no sense in arguing about it anymore. . . Online boxing fans are some bitter ****s; if you disagree with them, they will make it a point to go on, and on despite both sides making an effective argument for their case.


Everybod wants to believe their opinion is right, and they know the most about boxing, etc., etc.


We thought it was a justifiable 10-8 round; 3 others on here did not. . .

 

Round 1

Santomauro is throwing quick straight flurries and exhaling sharply on each toss. Wisdom is rolling his upper body back and trying to catch Santomauro lunging in with big right hooks. Wisdom has some success setting traps with the right hook but gets carried away, throwing looping lefts and more wide hooks even as Santomauro starts to scout and adjust to them, slowing his advance and getting his arms up and turned out in a catlike pose. Wisdom flops against Santomauro and pushes him into the ropes in a tangled clinch. Break. 1-2-1-2 by Santomauro driving Wisdom to the next set of ropes.

I've seen rounds that were far, far more 1 sided NOT be scored 10-8. That one wasn't even a candidate in my book.

again, there does not need to be significant abuse sustained over a period of time

that is not how boxing matches are scored

if you knock a man off his feet you need one punch or more.

he wasnt knocked off of his feet, but i felt the damage he sustained in the corner, where he took flush bombs consecutively and i sensed him gradually losing consciousness, was enough to score the round ten eight. that guy can ****ing punch. when he hits you like that it doesn't require an extended beating. these are not flyweights.

you guys will not convince me otherwise, and certainly not on the merits that i've got an "abdusalamov boner"

That's cool. . I respect your opinion. . . I thought a lot of those shots were getting through very clean, and snapping his head back, and it ended with a CRACKING shot that had him out on his feet. . . Another day, another ref, FIGHT STOPPED.

BUt I see your argument, and I respect it. . There's no sense in really aruging anymore about it, because it just turns into people calling each other names, and saying htey don't know **** about boxing, etc., etc. . .

 

If that;s a 10-8 round, then the Corley-McCloskey stoppage was perfectly justifiable. :deal

Round 2

Santomauro is still throwing his straight shots, lunging in at Wisdom. Slapping right hooks by Wisdom, who's defending with the lean away and some bobbing on the outside. Santomauro unable to land consistently as Wisdom moves and counters. Santomauro unloads some quick uppercuts as Wisdom ducks in the pocket and blocks.
