I know they sparred sometime before khan went to athens and later on to, but I was wondering who got the better of the other in these sessions? I know khan was saying that he got the better of brook after the Galarza fight, but he does chat a lot of ****, but its funny that brook is silent as he doesnt seem to mention this topic whenever khan's name is raised. With that said sparring is a lot different from a actual fight and this would be a close encounter.
jhonny nelson was training there and he said in a boxing news article brook beat him up and khans coach had to jump in the ring to save his sorry ass.
Doesn't matter who beat up who as a) It's sparring and b) this alleged spar took place years ago and both have improved immensely since then.
This was during the amateurs wasn't it? So that's over 7 years ago, so it doesn't matter what happened or who got the better of who. It has no bearing on a future fight.
Well if Brook was that good. Why did he not go to Athens? Only Amir went to the Olympics that year for GB. And he was only 17. Underrated achievement.
Johnny Nelson said yesterday that when Junior Witter was world champion Kell Brook used to "manhandle" him in sparring.
Given it as 8 years ago I would question its relevance. Both fighters have evolved considerably and are not the same fighters they were then
de la hoya was getting beat on in sparring preparing for olympics. the sparring partner shane mosley never made it to the olympics but will always be de la hoyas daddy.
