Who were the ring's dirtiest fighters? I know about Chuck Wepner's rabbit-punching, Holyfield's head butting and Tyson's canabalism. Are there any others who deserve mention?
Fritzie Zivic had no problems ignoring the rules. Bernard Hopkins is a master at masking his fouls from the ref. Very dirty fighter. Victor Ortiz seems to love showcasing some of the most blatant fouls I've ever seen.
I have read on numerous occassions that Tony Galento was quite beastly to Lou Nova in their match. For such an otherwise classy Fighter, John Conteh could be quite careless with his head "Advantageous Head Placement" i think he once called it.
Of those i've seen more of : Ali , Hopkins , Tyson (completely intentional) , * Holyfield * (in that most of his fouling may b unintentional) , Holmes , Lewis , Kabary Salem , Vasily Jirov , Sam Peters . Of those i read more of : Pedroza , Sandy Saddler , Panama Al Brown , Andre Ward , Zivic , Greb , Mysterious Billy Smith , Duran , Kendall Holt , Honeyghan , Hatton , Mayweather Jr. , Abner Mares . And in a way i think it's safe 2 claim that Trinidad , Margarito , Resto , Chisora and Pryor were some of d dirtiest . Already made a thread about it , but searching is disabled right now like in every weekend except from 1 maybe so i can't post a link .

this is y i listed him among those i read more about . Holmes thumbed Shavers and probably Holyfield , used elbows and used clinches . i did not notice it myself , and i haven't watched it in years , but i heard that Haglers used butts & elbows on Hearns . Also i read that he cut Alan Minter pretty well . Usually , as i learned by now , severe cuts r a result of a cheat , either n observable 1 , or not . but probably he wasn't 1 of d dirtiest , i will delete him 4 now .
I had a collection of most of holyfields fights 30+ fights and remember watching them one weekend, man the amount of headbuts that are intentional but he manages to make them look accidental or gets away with is amazing. Hes rotten dirty headbutter, at least golota does it with class.
Apparently Mysterious Bill Smith was dq'd like 11 times. That's especially shocking considering how much more liberal back then. But I'd have to say Bernard Hopkins is the master of pushing the envelope without getting deducted points while exacting a serious psychological on his opponents.

Vinnie Pazienza, clearly a very dirty fighter. And, an 'imbecile' also. Someone who lacks normal intelligence.
