I avoided watching him for so long despite the hype because I suspected he was another Sky Sports hyepjob. Finally tuned in tonight for a look. By the first round I knew he was in trouble. Was landing freely on Carson but not discouraging him and Carson kept coming. Carson didn't land **** for 6 rounds but still managed to hurt Brook late in the fight. Brook is like Khan without the speed. No defence and ends up running around the ring. Looking forward to him getting KTFO soon.
I think he's a class fighter but he hit the wall for some reason after the 6th round. It was strange because he was dominating but not really throwing enough to gas if you're a top conditioned fighter. He became sloppy after that and his defence (based on reactions) went to ****. He showed real heart and toughness to pull through. Credit to Jones too, he took some serious punishment in the fight. Hopefully Kell can improve his conditioning. Maybe he's one of those fighters who physiologically just can't sustain a fast pace in fights? Bit like Pascal.
He gassed alarmingly quickly without throwing that many punches. He was ****ed by the 6th round. Needs to sort that out or he wont fulfil his potential.
Seemed to realise that. Was talking straight after the fight about hiring a top conditioning guy. Hearn mentioned it too.
About Amir's chin: it's held up quite impressively in recent fights and it's becoming more and more of an illegitimate and cheap criticism.
Kell didnt do the weight right, once his nose got broke in the 6th he backed off & was under serious pressure Kell landed some great shots but Jones is an EVT winning G, I want to see a rematch before he fights for the title
It was a good fight, if devoid of much skill. I'm not sold on Brook, he had flashes of brilliance but never stepped on the gas when his opponent was in trouble. Mayweather and Pacquiao are miles ahead of him.
