Round 1

Roman pushes Armenta to the ropes. Solid jabs by Roman. Armenta is trying to match them with his own, having to aim up at the taller man looming over him with a tight guard. Quick right hand by Roman, tapping Armenta on the left eye and causing him to shake involuntarily with it. BIG LEFT HOOK BY ROMAN, very abruptly out of nowhere, dropping Armenta hard. He beats the count and survives the round.

10-8 Roman

 

If Roman can stop him, it will be only the 3rd time anyone's ever done it to Armenta in twenty bouts where he's been matched pretty tough. He usually gives prospects some difficulty and arguably got robbed against then-unbeaten Omar Chavez (son of the legendary JCC Sr. and younger brother of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.) before Jorge Paez Jr. exposed him.

 

Round 2

Armenta is reduced to big whipping right hands over the top as Roman circles in on him and digs hard right uppercuts to the body and pops straight perfect one-two combos to the face. Armenta is really loading up on those right hands, trying to land a hail mary punch from outside and walking Roman to the ropes. Roman looks totally comfortable there, working his way off with precise punches and clinching to carry Armenta out to the middle of the ring. Roman is very strong.

Round 3

Roman is jabbing Armenta in the face, walking him down, and throwing hooks to the body in combination. Armenta leans against him and tries to pepper him with some short left hands, but Roman leans back and fires an uppercut. Jabs to the face, uppercut behind the guard by Roman. Left hook by Roman countering over an Armenta jab. Armenta backs up and swats with a hook, missing. Roman doubles a hook downstairs and loads up a big uppercut. HARD left hooks to the body with Armenta sitting back against the ropes. Roman putting a lot of power into his punches, and placing them well.

Round 4

Roman lands a vicious left hook to the jawbone, locating it with devastating exactness as Armenta was loading up a huge ladder-climbing right hand over the top. Armenta is leaving too much space open as he throws his shots. Big right hand lead by Roman. Flurry to the face, shoeshining as Armenta covers up. Armenta pushes Roman to the ropes with his head in his chest. Short uppercuts by Roman. Another uppercut and a right hand whipped around to the top of the head by Roman to get off the ropes. Armenta is holding until told to break. Armenta jabs backing up, putting the goalposts up to either side of his head as Roman comes crashing in on him with those nicely selected shots.

Counter left hook by Roman, as Armenta is coming forward on his tiptoes and pitching forward off balance after having swung wildly. Armenta lingers inside eating another BIG LEFT HOOK BY ROMAN!! ARMENTA KTFO AND FLAT ON HIS BACK, MOTIONLESS!!!
