I've been impressed with Solomon and following his progress for years.

I actually bought a ticket to a boxing show here in Boston (one of precious few in the last several years... :-() where the main event was supposed to be him vs. Hank Lundy.

For whatever reason he had to pull out; injury I think.

Lundy fought Richard Abril in a stinker instead.

Very disappointing, almost wanted to request my money back.

To this day I think Solomon would have popped his cherry before Molina got to it.

Solomon is good. Only things missing is Tarver's slick steroids. He looks tired already.

    Round 2

Munoz down early from a quick right hand off a set-up left hook. Solomon then hits the brakes, backing up and countering patiently with carefully picked uppercuts as Munoz shoves in on him and tries to clap all around him with inside shots. Solomon shimmies against him and keeps working those counter uppers, calm as you please.

    10-8 Solomon

    20-17 Solomon

    Round 3

Munoz tosses a high jab and comes hacking with his right hand, as Solomon slides his way outside and sends machine gun bursts to the body. Munoz barks out in time with his punches while throwing a left, right, left, right, left to the head. Solomon curls up and bends to the side, working the uppercut. Right hand, left hook by Solomon backing up. Munoz is standing up to everything and coming on like Terminator. Solomon slaps the back of his neck with a left hook - mostly wrist - as Munoz ducks his head down and barks away while firing to the body. Munoz is more bark than bite, everything he's throwing pretty much constituting arm punches but he's very busy. Solomon doing just enough to avoid there being an argument for Munoz to get the round on work rate.

    10-9 Solomon

    30-26 Solomon

Gentlemen, I've got a couple of announcements to make:

    1) It's the fourth round coming up.

    2) There is a hot mess in my briefs.

Solomon does a decent imitation of Roy Jones.

    Round 4

Munoz is pushing against Solomon, all the way to the ropes. A few incidental head clashes. Munoz is cut, and the ref rules it from a butt. Munoz is the one causing them as he heaves on Solomon, pressing into him while flapping his arms around the sides. Solomon puts some left and right uppercuts together while stepping and leaning back, giving himself room to counter. Munoz popped with a hard right to the head. Solomon circles left to the ropes, and lands a looping right to the brow while strafing left in a matador move out of Munoz's way.

    10-9 Solomon

:thumbsup Pasillas, Flores, Roman, to a lesser extent Gibson, and now Solomon - all impressive on this undercard.

    Round 5

Solomon is working ambidextrous uppercuts to the chest and face as Munoz comes hacking in. Solomon is laying on the ropes and letting Munoz wail away, turning and slithering under him to slip shots and then grinding in against him to push his way free. Solomon mixing well to head and body, dancing around and using both hands while making Munoz miss his frenetic jabs and rights up top.

    10-9 Solomon

Munoz's corner is trying to psyche him up with confidence boosters, telling him he took the fifth.

    Round 6

Munoz keeps putting in work, pushing forward, and finally catches Solomon with a good punch. A right hand over the top as Solomon was circling out. Munoz keeps swinging and barking. Solomon backs up and pops his jab. Quick right hand lead by Solomon. Body shots. The ref warns Solomon to "keep 'em up!". Munoz pokes the body with a left jab and then stuffs a right into Solomon's guard. Munoz shoves Solomon to the ropes and leans inside, leading with his head. The ref says "no no no!". Solomon circles right, staying off the ropes and leaning over to one side. Jab up top by Solomon. Munoz chases him with jabs, brushing him between the eyes. Big exchange before the bell.

    Munoz's best round, almost his.
