Duran stops him in 7 rounds. This is Duran not passed prime DLH or Cotto, Duran. At 154 May isn't close to 130, 135, 140 May, but who knows, bigger upsets have happened in Boxing.

Duran is and was a throwback fighter, his style was obviousy more conducive to that 70's - 80's era of boxing and although he probably could would excelled in any era. I just that Mayweather is the most technically gifted fighter in this era and would give Duran all sorts of problems especially at 154.

I like the picture so much I’m trying it out as my avatar!

I think it would be a competitive fight.

Although I would like to favor Duran, It's hard to say that Mayweather wouldn’t have the skills to outbox him to a winning decision.

Floyd could conceivably frustrate Duran with his proven defensive abilities.

On the other hand, Duran could box AND bang!

They didn’t call him “hands of stone” for nothing.

Duran also had an iron chin.

More so, if we can’t see Floyd in the ring with Pac… it’s hard to conceive of him getting in the ring against Duran.:bbb

I'll answer this question. Watch the Barkley fight.

Duran was smaller, older, had less reach and he still beat the crap out of him. This was against a guy who beat Hearns twice.

Who has floyd fought at middleweight to show he could take that kind of power, and fight a bigger man? When has Floyd even been in a brawl, He hasn't because he's afraid of getting hurt. As far as defense goes, it was Angelo Dundee who said, those who think Duran is just a brawler don't know **** about boxing, all you have to do is look at his face, there's hardly a mark on it, he does a lot of cute things in there. Duran has superb defensive skills and more importantly he's the best fighter (dare I say ever) at switching from defense to offense. Why? Because he doesn't back up.

I'm not sure of your age but I've watch both of their careers. Floyd from day one, and Duran prior to Leonard I. Watch the De Jesus trilogy.

Anyone who actually watches the two fight can't honestly think Floyd would win, unless they focus on an underperforming Duran. But a peak Duran walks right through Mayweather, because Mayweather has nothing to keep him away with.

Hell he even had a good fight against Hagler, a fighter I can't even imagine Mayweather ever fighting. And the Leonard who fought Duran in 1980 would have KO'd floyd.

Too many kids posting on this website for my liking and most are too lazy to watch boxing on youtube.

Yes the current fighters are good, but no less than the IBRO who's sole focus is boxing research has Duran in the top 10 p4p. They also have SRL 2nd in the WW division all time and Duran gave him his first loss.

The only thing that may save Floyd in this fight is that it's at 154 instead of 135 where he'd definately get brutalized.

I totally agree with you, and if for example it was Duran who had caught Floyd with the same shot Mosley did early in their fight Floyd would be needing plastic surgery to reattach his mouth. Mosley nailed him early in that fight and backed off
Duran didnt know the meaning of the words back off.
Hands of stone would have messed him up

Yes, and he won fight of the year against Barkley at 160lb and 6 1/2 years older than he was when he lost to Lang.

    So what's your point?

one of the reasonable fantasy match ups to put Floyd in. Robearto(e) isn't an ATG who vastly outsizes Floyd

Doesn't mean he still didn't lose to some nobody. Duran would win at any other weight, but Floyd got this here.

Duran is the perfect person to beat Floyd too at 135. He can feint him back to the ropes and jab him back and counter. ne on the ropes, Duran can work Floyd intelligently and not waste energy like ndou our Ortiz
