    As disappointingly focused as Donaire is on landing one hard punch at a time, his coordination of feet and upper body always impress me.

    Mathebula is drifting around the ring, throwing his jab into Donaire's guard. Donaire leaps in and hooks, as Mathebula bends over to his right to roll under it. The crowd is starting to get bored, booing. Donaire leaps in with a right hand, lef thook. HBO has Mathebula outlanding him 17 to 9. :patsch What ****ing punches are they seeing land for Mathebula?? Sure, Donaire isn't working very much...but he's landing at a better clip and with better quality, PLAINLY. Donaire keeps walking him down, doubling his left jab and hitting gloves. Mathebula circles left and paws his own jab, missing.

    Round 8:

    Matty finds Donaire with a jab as stepping back, Donaire comes right back with a much harder hybrid jab/lead hook. . Matty really keeping the fight off the back foot now. . Finding Donaire's head with a double jab, snapping it back lightly, but crisply. Donaire showing why his foot speed, and showboating a little, as he swoops side to side, stalking Mathebula down. . Mathebula gets off a 1-2-3, grazing Donaire. . . matty lands double jab, but misses straight right hand. Crowd getting anxious, and booing, and both fighters stand their ground, waiting for the other to strike. Donaire takes the initiative lunging in with that hybrid hook/jab, pushing Mathebula back. . . MUCH closer round than the last few rounds have been, but I still feel like Donaire nicked it.

    10-9 Donaire; 79-72 Donaire.

    Largely disappointing from Donaire. This guy is so far below him in quality, should have been over long, long ago.

    Actually gave the round to Mathebula off his jab and right hand and left hook. Donaire landed a nice left to the body but most of his work consisted of misses and showboating this round.
