I had Nonito winning 114-113 if Mathebula hadn't stopped fighting in the last 2 rounds he should have pulled it out.

I don't really think so. . I think this was one of those fights where the cards could be justifiably wide, but it was still a lot more competitive, if that makes sense.

Mathebula deserves cerdit here, though. . Fight wasn't quite the way I predicted, but you could see shades of my analysis throughout periods of each round.

116-111 was my card. Showing guts and making it to the final bell doesn't mean you win the fight. Donaire's penchant for throwing one single punch at a time and utter refusal to throw the jab made the fight closer than it really had to be, imo.

You have rios as an avatar. I can only assume you are a fan. Rios should think arum for paying off the judges against Abril

STFU. I always believed Ortiz had a serious enough injury BUT if you want to win you got to sacrifice your health at times, especially in championship fights. Thats what seperates a regular fighter from a warrior with a heart and Ortiz will never be in the latter category. NEVER

Donaire on his WORST night deservedly beat Mathebula by near-shutout scores.

    Talk about a paper champ.

Nope. Nachos fighters use combinations. Donaire seems to want to go with 1 shot KOs.

Nacho would call him all sorts of names trying to get him to throw a combination.

Donaire is a terrible pressure fighter. He should work on his craft and actually learn how to improve his arsenal and not rely on his speed and power. I dont think he can go too far with Garcia

I would favor Nishioka and Rigondeaux over Donaire. Featherweight wont be too kind to him either.

    Donaire wanted a knockout.

He claims his leg went to sleep, and he had pins & needles throughout the fight. :patsch

That's why he didn't get the knockout.

You sure it wasn't your horrible strategy of lunging in with leaping left hooks all night, instead of using your usual technically proficient style to break your man down? :-(
