Sure landed some good punches scores a KD but out punched all night. Just the stats. donaire has no jab what so ever. Just throws power shots and doesnt box. donaire won the last 2 rounds but down on my card. Total BS. HBO special gift. HBO sucking his dick all night. donaire will most likely more up a division and fight the worst champ and duck all the top dogs. But if im wrong he will get exposed soon. Good fighter but overated.
Did you see where they ended a round 35seconds early when the South African was putting a beating on Donaire.
I thought Mathebula won by a round, i had it even going into the 12th which was close so im not calling nonito winning a robbery but those scorecards were ****ing disgraceful, I knew that before the first round looking at the pedigree of the judges Boxing needs a world wide commission
Donaire's problem is a mental one. He is far, far too comfortable when he's boxing and he doesn't focus enough on the job ahead. He throws reckless punches, he squares up, he looks for a knockout too often and as a result, he is showing weaknesses. I've always thought that the higher the competition, the better he'll look and in the past, that has been the case. Against guys who are no good, he'll look average but against top level fighters, he'll shine. He allows himself to be dictated by his opponent. Not in the sense that his opponent is the ring general, but if a fight is too easy for Donaire, he'll mentally shut down and lose far too many rounds. If he can find 100% focus, he'll be a phenomenal fighter but he's not doing that right now.
donaire won but not in impressive fashion and not in a way that can make his case for being top 5 p4p like many on here claimed, no way does he deserve to be ahead of sergio as so many on here were claiming,
Sonned? My friend was right when she said a lot of Filipino's are ****ing ******ed (being filipino herself before somebody starts throwing the race card up) I thought Mathebula won by a round, had it even going into the 12th and it was close. I cant argue with a donaire win but to have it by that Margin shows either corruption or imcompetence . . . . seeing as the south african judge had it the widest (119 to donaire) im going to assume bob slung a few extra notes in his pocket :-( Mathebula seemed off balance, didnt turn his punches in to implement the full potential in them and refused to fight like a taller fighter yet was still able to land more punches on Donaire and again in my opinion won the fight, he was just more active in a lot of rounds compared to Donaire It didnt help that Nonito had that annoying ****ing fanbase orgasming over every punch he threw regardless whether it landed or not, im pretty sure someones ovaries exploded when he dropped mathebula (the knockdown seeming much worse than it was due to Mathebula's balance) I dont blame Donaire for the judges incompetence however its obvious he wants nothing to do with Rigondeaux wanting to move away from the division after fighting Mares or Nishioka which he seems very keen on fighting
close fight not really a gift I think. Mathebula has some weird lookin' moves in there but the knockdown was the real thing of the fight. At least Mathebula didn't quit like Ortiz with the whole broken jaw. Mathebula's stock goes up anyway. Tough guy. Nonito stared too anxious and wasted some strong shots. I think his talent has a ceiling so to speak.
