Pavlik has an iron chin but the problem is, it was like Rosinsky had a magnet in his right glove because he couldn't miss with that shot. It was landing far, far too easily and anyone who seriously thinks Pavlik is ready for Ward, Froch, Kessler or Bute needs to be realistic. He needs another 3 or 4 fights before stepping into the ring against a serious elite fighter. Great left hook to the body though.
he just doesnt seem like he's incorporated what garcia has taught him with what he does well in the first place. he seems to have abandoned what he used to do well. that left to the body looks great but its thrown after rosisnky gets inside past jabs that were never thrown in the first place.
even kelly sounded a bit disappointed. was also disappointed sounding after sigmon as well. needs to get it sorted out quick.
He needs another three fights before he faces a top 10 contender. He just needs to work his way back into it.
Im not sure what fight you were watching... The only gripe i have is how Flat footed he was. More than Usual. 1. The Jab Wasn't landing because he couldnt time it early in the fight which later on he used it more as a counter to stop Will from coming forward. 2. He was a 1/4 step off of timimg the left hook all night long! 3. He didnt keep distance in the late rounds Pavlik threw a couple 3 punch combos that were quick! His Chin, and Conditioning are still there Folks. He just needs to throw the 1-2 and work off of that! All in all I thought Pavlik fought good. He always had a problem with Movers and Would Look Like the Pavlik of old if he gets in the ring with Someone who wants to stand and trade! WAR PAVLIK!
I'm not sure which posts you were reading.... because we'd said pretty much exactly what you said. Especially concerning distance IMO. Kelly always was a "master" at that most times. IMO, he's not jabbing and loading up on punches that even guys like Sigmon and Will could see coming for a mile. He HAS to set **** up with his jab.
I meant that as Kelly Will be fine if he steps up to a top 10 fighter! It would bring the Best out of him, and he will have to fight like its his career on the line! :good
Pavlik needs more than 3 or 4 fights, its a time machine he needs.Having said this,it was his size advantage that gave him an advantage.Against any top ranked 168lb'er he'll be having Bhop flashbacks. Bute would outbox him,Ward would break his heart and he'd probably quit on his stool,Froch and Kessler would destroy him.
hopefully Pavlik is just fighting to the level of his competition. thats a tough division at 168. i say throw him in with the wolves and hope that killer instinct comes back out.
There's no point in his taking more tune-ups. He's as ready as he'll be. Personally, I have very modest expectations for him, but I'd still love to see Pavlik/Abraham. That's a fight Kelly could win, and a victory would line him up for a big money bout.
