Kelly's disappointment if he shows any is he wants that KO...
To be honest I think the rds he is getting are better for him than getting a quick Knockout.
(A KO would rush & thrust Pavlik into a BIG fight too soon)

That said... Pavlik looked better than most are giving him crap for.
I agree on his jab like most have said & his "Left hook to the body" was nice.

B-Hops stole Kelly's heart. He's never been the determined fighter he once was.

He fought a near perfect match against a guy who could actually fight a little bit got in more rounds. I am sure he was taking this fight to get in rounds against someone who can move around a little and box.

What you scared of? You don't like Kelly anyways and never have.

Sounds to me like your worst nightmare is Kelly giving a good fight to one of you 168 boys. :yep

Agreed. I saw one he threw early in the fight, and with wicked intentions, and it just missed. Don't know why he didn't go back to it more.

He seems to be in between styles...I guess that's my main gripe. Needs to incorporate what Garcia is teaching him into what he does well instead of abandoning what he does well and just "use the left like we have been working in the gym on.". Rosinsky was moving and yeah he can fight but his back was to the ropes a lot. Kelly should have pounced but he didn't. It was like he was in in inviting him inside but he getting hit a lot in the process

What I think is happening here, in his last couple of fights, We know Kelly can go out there and knock the pins loose if he wants to especially against the last two he has face I think we almost expected that to happen.

What we got was Pavlik not looking for the quick stoppage actually going out there and working and shortening his shots, keeping that defense up and his footwork.

in other words I just think the last couple fights have been work, I mean why go out there and blitz your way to a title? when you step up and fight those who are holding belts, those guys know how to take you rounds.

THey know how to avoid getting blown out early, so why blitz your way to it, work on what you will need for that title fight, cus its not just the fight, you want to win that fight as it means more than these two fights.

In other words, knowing Kelly had a long lay off knowing that he was in rehab for drinking and knowing the majority of the boxing world thinks he is all done.... why not let them think that way, just work on what you need to come that title shot thats when you show them your still a live dog....

in other words why show your hand now when you clearly got people thinking your not a factor anymore

With 3 comeback fights he should be ready for a top contender. Sounds like he is content fighting club fighters. Until a big payday is offered.....pavlik gets destroyed by any of the top super middles. :yep

Well said. I hope he's just dialing in what Garcia is teaching.

To me it seems he is thinking too much in there about what he wants to work on. Not just letting his offense flow like he used to, but that should be expected with the trainer change, after all he was with Loew for his whole career.

I also think Kelly needs to be pushed before he'll push back fully. He may not be all he once was, but I think its too early to tell. He's obviously thinking too much in the ring and concentrating on landing certain shots.

My feeling on this is, that when faced with tougher opposition all that **** will go out the window and he will be back to dropping right hands and focusing more on his jab.

Its funny how much **** he caught for the "double the ****ing jab" ****. But the fact is, that worked for him, and now everyone seems to be saying he needs to use his jab more.

His jab has always been a beautiful weapon, setting up blinding right hands. He always had a good left as well, but didn't use it much. Now perhaps he can mix the three together and still get things turned around. He's a fighter that sets up everything off that jab, when he's set to jab he seems most comfortable, his hands are in the proper position and he can be pretty good defensively when he is in proper position, I always thought he was pretty good at picking off punches when his hands are in the proper position.

Right now he's thinking too much. Rather he will look good against better opponents only time will tell. But I would not count him out. He surprised a lot of people before, and I think he's the type of kid that might just do it again.

He has won 4 fights straight, and I think that will help build some momentum for him. His next fight should be a step up, but maybe not all the way up.
