just rewatched the fight and i think this fight was the most violence seen in a ring ever. The prince getting smashed a few times and augie leaving on a stretcher. Chilling, scary fight.

If its not Hagler-Hearns or Corrales-Castillo, then NO.

Not the most brutal ever seen but it was quite violent. There was some serious head smashing. The way Naseem ended it was pretty hardcore. He was in a different and bad mood for this fight. You'l see it in the build up the way he trained for it the things he was saying, his demeanour during the fight and his intensity after the fight.

Naseem Hamed was looking to wreck somebody that day and make an example of someone to his US critics who thought he was slipping

    Dempsey vs Willard
    Benn vs McClellan

In terms of high profile fights, the above two have to be up there.

Also all pre 1910 boxing fights are/were more voilent than by todays standards.

    Pretty much deathmatches

But I guess were judging by todays standards with 12 rounds 8-10oz gloves and standard rules.

Frazier Ali III was pretty brutal and voilent.

I think when were discussing 'voilence' the fighters must have real emotional anger/hatred towards one another
