    I'd say so.
He's so underrated no one else knows he's an ATG.
You know it's really unfair the way the TS tries to disguise his hatred for the Klitschkos. Why can't he just admit he loves slick black American boxers and despises plodding white Europeans?
Malcolm X is alive and well folks and he's posting as Awesome 1612.

Only if 'the universe' suddenly becomes confined within the constraints of mother Russia or Ukraine or whichever country the bulk of his fans reside.

The world will never forget how bad Wlad's competition was, not as long as we have digital media and detailed fight right records.

I've got nothing against Wlad, and I give him his fair due. He is the best heavyweight fighter fighting in the world right now, him or his brother, his era is weak and no amount of time is going to change that. The boxing world already has one Marciano, there isn't room for a second.

Wait...how exactly has the 'opposition argument' been proven false?

I certainly don't think that it's his fault that the contenders in this era are pretty much universally derided and seemingly sub-par. He can only fight those available to him, but ATG status should only be conferred on those that have fought and beaten other greats. Not every fight of course but at least some 'great names' should appear on their record.

So yeah, maybe Wlad could have beaten the greats of other eras. He certainly has some of the physical gifts, but we never got a chance to see him prove his mettle against fighters that could be considered great in their own right. Phrases like ATG get thrown around a lot, but when you really consider what it means, one of THE GREATEST FIGHTERS EVER IN THE HISTORY OF BOXING, does that really apply to Wlad?

Wlad fought Peter who beat Toney, Ibragimov who beat Evander, Rahman who beat Lennox and Byrd who beat Vitali. Are you saying that those name fighters would substantially improve his resume over the guys who'd already beaten them?

There's a contradiction in your post. Re-read it. The only question regarding Wlad and other all-time greats is the obvious one, his chin. He proved a lot in the Sam Peters fights, but he needs to fight another fearsome puncher and beat him, maybe. I consider Wlad a top ten all-time great based on size and ability. How far up in the rankings he would go depends on getting his chin checked a bit more.

Having Vitali in there does hurt Wlad's resume since Vitali is also beating other top guys, and they will never fight. Not fighting the #2 guy in Vitali does hurt Wlad and it will stop him from ever being a top 10 ATG.

    Well, to be fair:

Toney is a 160/168 lbs fighter, who was also 38. Ibragimov beat a 45 year old Evander. The Rahman win is a pretty good one (although he was like 36 or something). Byrd is okay too, but he's a smaller fighter, like much smaller in fact. I don't know if you can you build an ATG legacy off of beating those names.

If you can honestly tell yourself while looking at Wlad's resume that he is an ATG, then I guess we just have different criteria for judging that kind of thing.
