martinez is an offencive boxer and uses distance and keeps the opponent at the end off his jab. im a huge martinez fan i really dont like chavez jr cause he allways escapes the drug tests and dont fade mutch to be a boxer who drops up to 25 pounds to reach the weight limit. i see chavez stopping martinez. martinez is getting up in age and can get realy old over night, and martinez only fights good when he dictates the pace and chavez is going to fight at a realy high pace and trow punches nonstop. by the 7 round i see martinez beat up really bad and i see chavez jr run like crazy to the airport again to avoid the drugtest.

 wut? Is Margarito NOT Martinez's PAPÍ?! :huh Didn't he turn Sergio into a lifeless, slumping heap? Imagine how emasculating that would be for Sergio (HAHA it's probably what turned him gay) - another man literally held the balance of your life in his hands; with his bare, GLOVED FISTS, and nothing more (no weapons), he literally could have ended your life, if not for the referee, and settings of an organized boxing match. . .

Quite simple as far as I'm concerned, use his jab.

I've never rated Martinez footwork to be honest, he has often suffered knockdowns purely due to poor balance. I think educated pressure is the way to beat him.

If Chavez simply comes forward like he did vs - Lee, Rubio etc...he will be outscored.

If Chavez uses his height and reach to his advantage, i.e. using his jab to close the range down, he can get into close proximity and unleash his body attack and in-fighting without leaving himself open as he comes in.

Pressure, pressure, pressure. JCC coming forward will play into Sergio's hands imo, but - equally - it's the only way he can win. There's no doubt in my mind he's going to take alot of hard shots and he's going to have to be prepared to do so if he wants to win.

He needs to start a bit more quickly than usual and come out thinking body from the off. Sergio is traditionally quite a fast starter and Julio needs to meet fire with fire. Go out throwing the left hook to the body hard and often but be prepared to be hit with a serious amount of counter right hooks.

Conditioning is a big factor for him usually and it will 100% need to be perfect in this fight. Rumours of him going out on the **** have came up in the past and that can't happen this time. Training camp needs to go well and there are a few things he needs to work on imo. He needs to work on throwing punches as he steps in rather than just when he's actually in. I've noticed that he doesn't throw shots at mid-range like traditional pressure fighters tend to do and this means he doesn't get maximum power on some of his shots.

He also needs to use the jab to set-up some of his work imo. He's completely neglected this and a good jab has troubled Sergio in the past. Pavlik had a mid-round revival against him after a poor start and before the cut, and this was largly down to him throwing the jab and - just as importantly - having variation on the jab. Double it, use it to find range, use it as an offensive weapon and use it to set-up your power shots, but don't ****ing neglect the jab.

No point in trying to outbox him, he doesn't have the speed, the skills or the ring IQ to match sexy Sergio. It's got to be a straight-up dogfight. This is definitely the best way for JCC to get KO'd (and he will do so imo late on) but it's also his only shot at winning. He has to decide whether he wants to go the distance or if he wants to risk getting KTFO in the pursuit of victory.

He's going to need to stay very busy..... a lot busier than he was vs Lee to disrupt Sergio's rhythm, he cannot let Sergio pick his shots and set up his offense. If he fights like he did vs Lee he's going to get embarassed.

Chavez needs to pressure Sergio into the ropes & tee off on his body & head with hooks & straight rights. Williams was able to make Martinez trade against the ropes & catch Sergio flush multiple times.

Rinse & repeat... Martinez will tire cause he is old as ****. (For boxing & his style)
Avoid Sergio's eyes closed hail Mary punch & the bodywork will payoff after RD 6.

It'll be interesting to see waht kind of gameplan roach comes up with this for this fight. Sexy Sergio is the fighter most stylistically similar to emmanroid. Those are roach's words not mines.
