How can you say he doesn't need S&C coach. It might not be the complete answer but it would only improve his conditioning, weight making, which was referred to. Saying that he would need to get a good qualified one not just one who talks a good game but with no scientific background to back it up
Ingles is a great gym, and sometimes what the fighter does himself regarding diet can undermine trainers, without knowing the details its hard to judge and maybe jones was not going to be easy whatever they done.
Wahtever the merits of the Ingle gym, when it comes to fight night and a fighter having a clear idea of what they need to do then they have always been lacking. Come fight night an Ingle fighter has to rely on his natural ability and thats it. Saturday night was just the same with no advice whatsoever, similar to how they allowed McIntosh to plough headfirst into Bellew the other week without a word being said. Useless.
the ingle fighters would probably turn out better if they were taught conventional boxing in the first place. with the reflexes and power naz had, imagine if he had been trained in the mayweather gym from a young age. naz naturally had everything required to be a great. i think the ingle style limited him from doing that.
Bang on. I've always thought that. The Ingles teach their fighters to rely on reflex for defence and keep their hands low. For offense, it's all mad angles and wild lunges, which looks great against cans but put them in with a decent fighter and there is trouble. Remember Naz off-balance and flailing round the ring against Barerra. I think it's an awful shame these fighters aren't schooled in the fundamentals.
Come on i think this guy 'Chilli&lemon' knows far more about nutrition and S&A then two of the leading guys in strength and conditioning..... Its not like they have worked with multiple world champions
Brook had left the ingles for dave coldwell a couple years back, when coldwell went too work for haye makers promotion ,Brook went back to the ingles Brendan was well pissed off he doesent have anything to do with Brook.
When have I ever said that, I merely pointed out that there are levels in every field, guys who do a couple of years of working as s&c coaches after completing the theoretical side via a 3yrs bachelors at a polytechnic aren't anyway near as accomplished as someone with decades of experience in the field of nutrition which includes carrying out research and teaching at top institutions (not polytechs). The difference between the top institutions and polytechs is massive - the theory learned here has a massive impact on what one goes on to apply practically and ones thought pattern (its's also true in the practical working world) - does that mean guys like tabares et al are shoddy, of course not, but they can never have more knowledge then someone engulfed in research etc at the top institutions.
Kell Brook is not you're traditional Ingle styled fighter. People need to get a grip, he was in shape and he fought a hard fight. Its abit of a myth, this Ingle way of fighting. Brendan Ingle did not invent it..? This myth originates from Bomber Graham.
If that's the case, what are going to be the excuses when Khan gases after the 5th round if Garcia pressurises him but yet guys like Floyd can maintain that level for the full 12 rounds. Explanations have to be lookd at scientifically rather than "next time we'll do this differently, we'll try these exercises instead". No one in Khan's camp has tried to address this problem with Khan over the last few years other then changing s&c coaches regularly - has this helped Khan in fights to not gas or improved his consistency regardless of the style of a fighter (stamina wise I mean). They should go up to Loughborough Uni and get some help from those guys, they are in the know when it comes to sports nutrition.
Lol at this guy, tabares has a strong backround in the field and with his olympic backround has that hands on experience which you cant learn from a textbook, same with ariza.
