Do you have a link to that ? (I'm not doubting you, I want to read that story) I only know that Lipton tried hard to get Carter out of prison and was the one who got Ali involved in the process. Seems odd to think that same guy tought Carter was guilty...
Good fiction film but full of shite "40 something years ago I wrote a song about Hurricane and the racism he had to endure, and his total innocence of those heinous crimes. then somewhere along the line I decided he was guilty as all fukk just like everyone else. now I refuse to even discuss the song. thanks, Bob" ^ Bob will never ever make the above quote so I made it for him
very interesting indeed does he post on here? http://www.cyberboxingzone.com/cbzforum/showthread.php?567-Ron-Lipton-Q-amp-A-Thread/page6
Wasnt Ron Lipton a supporter of Carters for years and years until Carter refused to help him with something and then Lipton turned on him?
This is for Brownies as well. Yes, I believe he backed away from some sort of support that Lipton may have needed at the time but, in reading Ron's account, it wasn't ill-will or anger that led to his conclusions. I not very computer savvy; but I'm sure you can find Lipton's accounts out there.
Thanks, I just found it on JDempsey85's link above. It sure sounded like anger, ill will, and sour grapes all rolled in to one. He really tore in to Frankie DePaula's son on there, also, with no real justification. But, back to the topic at hand: I think Carter was guilty. There used to be a website out there with a TON of information on the case and on Carter and it painted a pretty damning picture. Its become vogue to say that Carter vindicated in his case but in reality he was released from prison on what amounted to a legal technicality.
