As great as Ward is, he's a bit of a wetbag for avoiding moving up to LHW, especially when it should happen within his next 2 or 3 fights anyway, and still fighting in Oakland??? Got a feeling this one will be incredibly close and the scorecards could certainly be controversial.

Most important fight of the year! Chad a G for doing this all on Wards terms and deserves all the credit int he world. But lets not act like this isn't by far the biggest challenge of Wards career either.......

Dawson says he can make the weight fine, if he looks himself in there then Ward deserves full props if he wins. This is what boxing is all about-2 great young fighters and future HOF'ers actually fighting! I just pray for no controversy or BS hometown scorecards. This will be a great tactical fight for the purists and the most important fight of the year with regards to implications for the winner..... If Ward wins he goes to p4p #2, if Dawson wins he jumps to p4p #3 imo......cannot wait, I'm hella pumped for this as a huge fan of Bad Chad and I really hope Dawson can pull it off but realistically I see Ward getting inside and having his way from a mid way through til the end.....Ward wins 7-5 type decision after dropping the early rounds.

also, u gotta give Ward a little bit of props for fighting someone as good as Dawson after being on a damn near 1 year lay off with no tune-up.

Very cool. Both classy guys. Dawson just hated Hopkins but I have a feeling these guys can be pals afterwards.

I think are pals already. I remember hearing ward being interviewed somewhere asking if he was shocked dawson called him out. And he said no we told him to, we've been planning this together before he even fought hopkins the second time.

 

Look, I think it has the possibility to be a great fight, but Andre Ward has 2 big advantages that will be the deciding factors in the fight. First, Dawson has to come down more than a few pounds, which will naturally drain Dawson to some extent, how much, we'll have to wait and see. Secondly, having this fight in Ward's home town is ridiculous! Do any of you really think Chad Dawson can win a decision? No way! This type of fight needs to be in Las Vegas or a neutral site. Both guys have great skills and hearts to match, but having these two advantages will be the deciding factor unless Dawson knock him out. nononononononononono

Other than the weight. Dawson better make sure they get credible judges. The fight he had with Bika was very close, and the scores were 120-108. So so many things against Chad in the fight.

 

i dont know if much people have seen the post-fight Presser for Dawson and Hopkins. they were VERY respectful. it was shocking. they gave eachother alot of props and made up.

 

That is just b/c Dawson is a classy guy in general, for all the **** he had to deal with from Hopkins, there was no point in dragging it out after he beat him so clearly in the ring.
