He still gets hit far too much.

7lbs north on the scales, and those punches hurt a hell of alot more.

Khan is still making the same mistakes.
Nothing has changed, he is still pushing to create space, he is still wide open for an over hand right and his punches can be timed. Garcia is well capable of surprising people.

That was good. I liked the bits on how Roach got started as a trainer...they used some interesting old footage.

Khan's defence was all over the place in that first sparring session. I know most fighters don't go at 100% for their sparring sessions, but even if Khan was taking it easy, he still looked quite sloppy in there, and was taking some hard shots. He was dropping his hands and pushing his opponent, too. His strength and conditioning coach was actually giving him good advice, telling him to calm down and box.

(The only thing I liked was that he seemed to be using the right uppercut more when he was on the inside. This surprised his opponent and created space for him. It's a tool that I didn't really see him use in the Peterson match.)

He did look better in the second session, when Roach was watching over him. He was moving more, using the jab, making use of distance. (His movement when he retreats backwards is still bad, though.) His best move was when he circled, hit his opponent with a right hand, then quickly slipped the retaliation shot.

He looks the same as ever - fast, sharp and accurate. As others have pointed out he's getting caught to much. It's a part of his game that's needed work but doesn't seem to be addressed. Still, I don't think Garcia is good enough to beat Khan.

    thanks.
he gets hit too much for my liking. alot of amteurish thing like jumping in with punches, smoothering his own work. then coming out of distance with his hands down and chin up then gets caught.

at 12:10- he startes trading and no defensive responsibilty. it makes you appreciate and realise how great guys like James Toney are/were.

since khan has turned pro he has struggled to blend offense and defense together. hes either punching or defending.
a guy like ola afolabi and dwight muhammad qawi are better pros and dont make them mistakes or not as much as khan and they havent even had a amateur career!

i think having a huge amateur career does this to you and is overrated imho. he cant break out of it. still i got can winning this.
but if he fyts how he was sparring there....garcia can win this too!

He should hire you cos you know great things..how come Freddie Roach doesn't even see those dead obvious faults? :patsch Maybe you could be Freddies consultant?:deal
