That dude needs defense. Freddie isn't going to help with that. Better go see Nacho.

Smart move, his style may work well with Roach. Ortiz is a bit of a headcase though.

he should get wards trainer. he annoys me and seems like a piece of ****, but dude was trainer of the year and there isnt much more boxers as well rounded as ward. so he obviously must do good work.

Robert Garcia of course will work well.

But I feel Ortiz will do well under Nazim, I really do.

Wow, Danny alienated himself from his family for Ortiz. Hope he still has that job going at Pepsi.

I can't for a second imagine Nazim coaching Ortiz. You can't shine ****, what's Nazim to do with a guy who has no heart?

Can't go wrong with a trainer like Roach.....I think that Freddy might be able to tame Ortiz a bit which would make it easier for Victor to shed some of the bad defensive habits he has and work on fine tuning his offense. Ortiz is a good fighter.....he just has reached his plateau under Danny.

Change is necessary but the right trainer is essential. Some trainers want to completely change a fighter which is counter productive the majority of the time. A good coach will keep the natural foundation of an already established in tact and identify the weak areas to make subtle adjustments....gradually.

Over time the final product will look like the same fighter.....just more polished where the progression is more clear....of course the relationship has to be strong for it to be a good marriage that lasts..... Victor has always spoke highly of Freddy.

Will be interesting to see how this unfolds.

    Ortiz is un-loyal and heartless.

he did the same to Robert Garcia because he was "too tough on him".

the funny thing is, Danny is not even strict and lets Vic call shots, he couldnt get away with that while with Robert.

    dude is a mental case.

True......I see the same thing in Victor.... If he was mentally more together.....he could be a force. The kid has heart.....that goes on and off like a light switch. He needs someone who can reel him in and make he respect the coach in his domain. Tyson had similar characteristics to what Vic has exhibited....not on Mikes level but there are similarities

seems like he likes to blame others for when something bad happens to him.

him being with roach isnt gonna give him heart once he starts getting touched up.

With Berto, Vic proved he had heart......fighting Lopez with a cracked jaw for 5 rounds is more than 90% would have endured, but his "No Nas" episode against Miadana was a huge mistake that he will never live down...some think he quit against Floyd...the question marks are always going to be there for that one mistake.

That would be a good move. However, I don't know if Nacho would want to train a headcase like Ortiz.
