Seriously, Julio Jr has improved quite a bit and not only that, he has a relentless come forward bull style. I expect the JJ to stop Maravilla in about 9-11 rounds...I think its going to be a bad beatdown. JJ is out to make his own chapter and come out of Sr's shadow... He manhandled Lee like a rag doll and we know how that finished. Also, people tend to forget that Marco Antonio Rubio is a hard puncher and Jr took care of business there also. Expect nothing less than a grade A beatdown given out by JJ.
It has to be his speed & movement that is perceived as his best assets. Great reflexes for an old timer & OK power, tho overrated cause of the P.Willy KO. IMO, Martinez will prove to have a very low threshold for punishment.
That one punch against P did more for Sergio's career and reputation than just about any punch I can think of recently. But when you really look at it, as rats said, he doesn't have a high threshold for punishment. And his stamina isn't the greatest in the world. He isn't a sure lock to win this fight. But, I think his handspeed, ringsmarts, and decent power might give him the advantage here. I just don't think Junior has faced anything close to what Sergio can offer. Meanwhile, Sergio has fought Pavlik, PW twice, Margo, and others.
To begin with unlike what Papa Julio says or believes Maravilla is never in a boring fight and he does move alot, but he does trade alot too. He's an old guy Jr's alot younger he should be able to catch him. Maravilla has a very good all around game with defense, offense, ring IQ, stamina, and power. Alittle unorthodox at times, but few fighters could get away with what he does. Jr in a Golpe A Golpe with Jmm showed me he is more intelligent than I thought so I think he knows his limits, but he can't depend so much in his size or physical to win every fight. Even if he did beat Maravilla I don't see a long reign for him. Simply too one dimensional.
A mix between pretty decent power, unorthodox movement and good speed for his weight class. His ambush style has seen him through a lot of fights where he may have not started out so strong. He also seems to keep energy on tap when he senses his opponent fading. A lot of it comes down to those abilities and This content is protected
I would be very hard pressed to see this as a one sided ass whipping, i think if it goes to the cards Julio will get the nod.....Regardless of how it actually was in the ring. Martinez is ice skating up hill, not against Julio, but Top Rank, the Judges, the Mexican Fans..........:deal I expect a robbery like Marquez-Pac 3
The "I think it's going to be a bad beatdown" was a bit of a stretch as I was only attempting to convey that Julio is going to win. I don't think and hope it will not go to the scorecards. I think JJ has a greater chance of stopping Sergio than the other way around. Please try to convince me that I am wrong. Antonio Margarito already beat Sergio and I am sure folks are going to say "that was then , etc...." Well, JJ has improved significantly and every fight up until 15 SEP was then also... Jr will be victorious come 15SEP
For starters he's incredibly sexy and from his weighin videos he appears to have a generously sized *****, all plus's in my book...
