Quitter is a word that is thrown round a lot in boxing but why when Robinson quit it never gets a mention ?

    Well, a few reasons.

First, because people don't know how ****ing hard boxing is.

Secondly, because Ray Robinson was already by far the best fighter to have ever lived at that point. He could take a **** in the ring and it would be adored.

A welterweight was owning a light heavyweight, but basically the heat, not Maxim, got to SRR. Sure, to be fair Maxim took the same heat as well, but to the people in attendance SRR was way past his prime several divisions north it wasnt like he was in his prime either.

When you're an absolute ****ing G like Robinson/Duran/Morales nobody cares because your G'ness is at such a level that everything else doesn't matter but when you're a 6"8 steroid riddled disgrace or a SMW who faints then claims an imaginary doctor told him he may have brain damage then people will give you **** and rightly so.

When the ref needed to be replaced due to the heat it tells me that an old fighter in a 15 round fight 20lbs above his natural weight would find those times tough.

Sugar didn't quit, T. Heat stoke had him delirious. Should he have fought smarter in record-breaking heat that caused the ref to be carried out in the 10th, is another matter.
