I can't say he sucks. People have to understand he talks a lot but Arum doesn't really trust in his abilities like he does. That's why some of those fights didn't happen. Now he is saying forget it. Whatever he has to do to get to Wendy, he's willing to do it.

 

Vanes fights very much like Khan. Fast starter then gets sloppy.

Hmmm seeing those highlights was nice and you are right that right hand is quick and seems to have some pop on it. If he can take Laras left hand and keep pressuring he very well could beat him. I think Vanes might be mentally weak though.

This would be a great fight so we will see if it comes off. How is Vanes's chin? If he has a solid chin I can see him giving Lara alot of problems. Hernandez was able to pressure Lara and he is much smaller.

Laras ribs are always exposed as well. He keeps his guard really high.

No, Vanes has an excellent amateur background, is very well schooled, and has good size. This would be a really good matchup.

 

I already consider him a solid fighter, just not the demigod his fanboys think he is.

They act as if all the top dogs at 154 are scared shitless of him when he doesn't have a single good name on his resume and has looked pretty average and unimpressive at times. Defeating Vanes would do a lot for his poor stock, so he better do it if he wants to be taken seriously.

 

It would be an upset, but Vanes is a very talented boxer.
