How much credit do you give Joe Louis for beating Billy Conn?

After the fight, Robinson was bed ridden for days. He couldn't keep any solid food down for days. Heat exhaustion really took a toll on his body.

    Maxim tko 14.

It dose not matter if Robinson was winning. He could have won all 13 rounds. There are indactions that Maxim was coming on in the late rounds of the fight.
In boxing it's not how you start or how much of a lead you have. It's how you finish. Mayb it's a once in a lifetime thing, but Maxim finished better than Robinson.
The man who deserved to have his hand raised on that night got his hand raised.

C'mon rip you know you make your game plan weeks before the fight. His gameplan was working but the heat got to him. the right man did win but ya cannot say the man quit he could not fight anymore. He was the smaller fighter and had to fight an high paced fight to deal with the bigger man so of course the heat would affect him more than it would Maxim. So I guess you are saying the ref quit too right?

Rather than give SSR stick, I choose to give Maxim credit. As he famously said, he wasn't fighting in an air conditioned arena, either. He applied enough pressure to force Ray to fight at the type of pace needed to tire him out and leave him all but dead on his feet by the end of the 13th.

What are you ****ing nuts? He spent weeks in hospital afterwards and had to retire for almost two years aftert that fight. Besides he proved many many times before and after that fight that he's a man with balls. If your but hurt cause Ortiz is getting **** then I'm sorry for you. Ortiz probably shouldn't get **** for quite....but the problem is he's cried wolf before.

    Clearly your a troll.

Because it's an old timer and the internet was not around for him to be **** on.. Now I am sure there was a valid excuse to quit, but put that scenario today and none of Esb would have it..

First of all I never said that Robinson quit. The stoppage apears to be a doctors decision. In any sport not played indoors. The weather is a factor, and you have to make adjustments acordingly. Before the fight started Robinson should have said to himself "It's ****ing hot tonight, I should slow my pace down".

Couldn't be the body work Maxim put in during the fight could it? Nooo*, that would be impossible. We all know Robinson had magic powers making body shots useless against him**

    * That's sarcasm if you couldn't figure it out by the extra o's.
** Also sarcasm. However i supect some people bleive it to be true.

maxim does and should get credit for the win, but if anyone looks to discredit Ray's chin or heart by pointing to this lone fight should log off.
