I distinguished my situation as unique; I never claimed to be a "stani" in the sense most would think, and accept: I don't have 'Stani parents, or any kind of "ancestral lineage." I can't speak more than a few words of Urdu. .

No, seeing me, and hearing me talk, you would never mistake me for a 'Stani (unless it was a "white" 'Stani). . .

I claimed straight up that I simply felt attached to the country, because that's where I spent 9 of the first 12 years of my life in. . . I fail to see a major distinction between me, and a "real 'Stani" who lived in P'Stan until he was 12, and then moved to USA. . .

 

Yeah beating up indigenous white teenagers when they're on their own, well done.

 

I admit that I had a pretty posh lifestyle while living there - but so do a lot of Stani's (all of whom I went to school with were a lot richer than ANY WESTERN, or other diplomatic/government-stationed families there). . . So I don't have quite the same level of understanding as some might who grew up in poor areas. . . But it's not like I was "separated," on some Army base or something. . I lived in a REAL 'STANI NEIGHTBORHOOD, with 'Stani neighbors all around me. . . Every weekend (at least) I went into karachi, and lahore (when we lived there) to do **** normal 'stani families would do. . . Went grocery shopping, out to eat, swimming. . . sometimes we would go to the beach, or up to the mountains. . .

Yep, that's where my heritage is from - t guys of Jhelum or mirpuri descent seem to wind me up with their antics of marrying their first cousins and the way they have failed to integrate here in the uk, and in the process, given the rest of the Stani's who have done so a bad name.
