Retirement for for a fight against Froch?

I'd LOVE Eddie to say "There's £10 Million, take it or leave it".

Do you reckon that fight would do BIG numbers or not? It's be great to see it, albeit a few years too late.

I think he'd do it for 5 million at Light-heavy. But I don't think Froch would like to give much weight away. I'd love to see it, but the lower the weight the more money Calzaghe would want.

Hatton vs Witter would be great too.

no way anybody will pay £10 million, you can tell he doesn't want to fight again

It was interesting on Ringside when Nelson read out a Tweet saying Froch is a true Warrior who never ducked anybody.

Joe got all defensive saying “I never ducked anyone either” & “I wish the super 6 was around when I was fighting”

A poster on here said it best the other day.

Calzaghe & Froch are both jealous of eachother.

Froch is jealous of the profile and fan support Joe had (even though he fought mediocre opposition for much of his career)
Calzaghe is jealous of Froch because of the mad respect he has from within the industry. (He’s probably question his own career at times looking at what Froch has done)

A fight between the 2 could easily be made I reckon.

That bang on the money there!

They want what the other has.

Joe didn't 'duck', but he certainly took the safe and easy options for way to long, and he realises it now.

I think around 5 million would get Joe thinking about it again.

But if ever a boxer was content in retierment its Calzaghe. They ONLY thing that he would be back for and that is the money.

Joe is done, he was slurring his speech on ringside (due to overdoing the coke me thinks).

Calzaghe has still achieved more than Froch overall. Joe has still fought the same level of competition just not back-to-back like Froch. Carl has fought an unprecedented succession of fighters in such a short space of time. This is Carl Froch's winning hand n the eyes of the fans.

So many of Joe's achievements go ignored. Achievements that Carl Froch, for whatever reason, will never accomplish.

Do you think fighting Byron Mitchell was a safe option? Byron Mitchell was a legitimate and dangerous opponent.

Byron was a good fighter, but if thats the best you give then it strengthens why he is jealous of Froch's current achievements.

    NEVER BEEN STOPPED

    FORMER WORLD CHAMPION

Basically summed up most of Calzaghe's opposition unfortunately.

I don't think Joe and Carl will ever get it on for me Carls record of names and quality are slightly better but Joe is the better boxer and the more talented of the two , it's a pity there wasn't the 168lb'rs around when Joe was in his pomp that there were about for Carl because imo he would have been able to live comfortably and possibly remain unbeaten in any era of the division, plain and simply put his adabtability would never let him down .

You've just confirmed the main problem we have: Froch's opponents get overrated and Joe's get slightly underrated.

The main point of my reply was also swerved. Another thing that keeps happing in debates between Froch and Calzaghe.

I think I'll stop this nonsense and look forward to the weekends fights.
