I was looking at one of Haye's video's when he was preparing for Wlad, and he said his conditioning coach doesn't make him do road work and how he doesn't care for it. In that same fight I saw his legs get tired after Wlad started putting pressure on him. Boxing trainers swear by road work, and I'm guessing Khan isn't doing any himself. (Scratch that I was told Khan is doing road work)

On the bright side Khan is finally doing sit ups , and weight lifting, which Ariza wasn't big on. Ariza was into core stabilization exercise that improve the cores performance. But nothing makes the core more punch resistance (in my opinion) than crunches.

I wonder if Khan's new conditioning will give him confidence to sit on his punches, and trade. He's fighting another guy who's the same size as he is.

Haye's stamina will have to be on point to keep Chrisora off him

Some boxers run miles upon miles everday

Ever wondered why they still get tired after boxing for 4 minutes?

O Ok I guess that's only Haye then. I guess Haye's gonna have end it quick. It will be hard in the later rounds when Chrisora keeps coming and Haye's legs go out.

Roadwork is overrated. Roadwork don't help you gain boxing skills or whoop azz in a fight. James Toney never did roadwork and look at how his career turned out.

Due to a bad ankle, I don't run. I bike about 50 miles a week (maybe twice that during the summer) and use an eliptical machine, but it is not the same as being on your feet.

Cardio wise, I'm fine, but I don't use the little stabilizing muscles in my legs and they feel heavy when I'm on my feet for a long time.

guys who r muscular usually r spent or tire out quicker than those who arent.

i remember the po po academy, the biggest dudes always dropped out 1st from the long runs

That is not true at all.... doing mitts and hitting the bags is Cardio but it does not work that much on your legs.
Sparring does a bit, so does skipping rope but it does not give you the same benefits that roadwork does. You do roadwork because your going to be moving for 12 rounds, you do the rest of the work in the gym because your going to be hitting and getting hit for 12 rounds, you are basically conditioning your body to absorb punishment that your body would not be able to normally take when your not in this kind of shape.

The lack of roadwork if its even true, is going to have an effect on Khan, weather he loses or not thats still up in the air but I do expect to see him look different, still thinks he wins because technically he is better.

I read just today that Khan is getting up at 4am to do his run....in any case if he has cut them out then that is crazy imo!

I hate road work I was a sprinter in school and college and I refused to run anything over 400m but when Im in the gym I find doing 3 - 4 miles per day make so much difference to my stamina.
