http://www1.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/7896997/Khan-Bring-on-Mayweather Read the comment s on this thread, the guy is probably the most unpopular boxer in britain despite his world status.im pretty sure hes got more fans in the states than his home country. i think its because he has a much higher opinion of himself then he should, always has an excuse for a defeat(peterson, presscott)or poor performance(mcloskey etc).if he thinks hes anywhere near mayweathers league hes in for a shock,i hope he gets the fight late this year or early next and gets knocked the **** out. ps.this isnt a hating thread,i think hes a fantastic boxer just comes across as a ***** in every interview iv ever heard or seen him in
There aren't many boxers out there that have much higher opinion of themselves then they should, always have an excuse for a defeat or a poor performance
it's because britain is full of ****s. people who read The Sun people who read The Daily Mail people who watch The X Factor people who watch Big Brother
Khan believe it or not has got a lot of fans over here, he could easily sell out most venues. However England's the same as most of the world, we have plenty of pathetic racists!
He has plenty of fans here but lets focus on the negative and make it all about his race. There are a million reasons to not like him but it's all a coverup and it's all because he's ****stani (sarcasm)
Its a portion of the none boxing fans that im calling racists because lets face it there are plenty of them.
If he never ever spoke,i might like him,but its still very unlikely. He cant help being braindeed,so shouldnt really be hated so much.
Me and you find ourselves in the same boat mate I didn't ever set out with the intention of disliking the kid , and actually was once (still am sort of) an avid fan of his , ill lay it out as i seen it unfold , young , confident kid with an explosive style does great as an ama , a GB and world level ama stand out , turns pro , gets a lot of PR , all good so far , picks up some good wins , looks like he's gonna be a serious talent , still all good , picks up some more good wins and still looks good doing so , then starts start to talk about world title's without ever even considering or entertaining his peers domestically , ok still all good but starting to get a little over confident , thats no issue us British boxing fans love a bit of confidence !!! Gets flattened and comes back under Freddie Roach , by this time the hate is setting in among casuals , because of Khan's high opinions of himself and un realistic evaluations of where he is in the land scape of world boxing , and a lack of respect (publicly) to almost everybody in the world bar himself Yaddi yaddi yadder and that 2nd paragraph has been taken to levels i never even thought the less intelligent Khan could take them , oh did i mention he was a world champion once !!! Hence I'm now disliking the guy , i think what ill do from now on is tuen the volume down when he comes on , that way i never have to bash him again Edit : Gaz Richards , the die hard Khan fans who don't know anything outside of Amir Khan in world boxing will now proceed to insult you , and probably label you racist
I'm from Bolton and Khan is a tool. Same with his manager Asif Vali, horrible little slimy ****. Believe it or not from what I've seen in Bolton a lot of the Asian community dislike him, not all but a lot more than you'd expect. I would say in reality it is the majority of casual boxing fans who actually follow him, opposed to the actual fans who dislike him due to his ego.
what it is, is that british people HATE it when one of our own is a success, i don't know why, but it's a fact. it's why we cheer overseas guys against our own a lot of the time, it's why guys like Bruno, Henman, Hatton etc were idolised while lennox, Calzaghe and murray are treated "different" I think it's because of the fall of our nation itself, we have gone from the most powerful empire in the world to a bit of a joke really, why shouldnt our attitude to sports reflect the national attitude, we cant be bothered to be great anymore, we'd rather run ourselves down, that's why any individual who breaks from that mindset and achieves more than the average gets hate. "lovable losers" are the most popular in Britain, harmless, will have a go but wont do too much "ah well at least he give it a good go innit"
Earl, I agree , i do , but thats not the reason i for one have turned on Khan :deal But yeah i here ya pal , Britain is a stinking Island full of ****s
