I don't really know what Roach does for Junior, but anyone believe that he'll be canned by Junior before the training camp starts?
If nothing else, having Roach in your corner is good for publicity. It looks great in those 24/7 shows, and that brings in the PPV. So no, they'll keep him around at least until after the fight.
No not basing tonight result on Roach. But face it, the world got on the Roach bandwagon. Considering Roach been with Manny for Bradley and maybe had a week with Junior, what does he do for Junior really?
I noticed in the Andy Lee fight, Roach had very little to say. And does Junior speak English because there was no translator either. Steward has quite a few fighters, but Roger Mayweather, Floyd Sr, Doctor Diaz (Cotto), have top fighters (well not Sr) right now but seem to devote their time to their guy.
JCC Jr is ideal for Roach's style. JCC Jr flourished under Roach. Amir has a different set of strengths/weaknesses that would be better suited to Steward or Ingle. Even Cotto's coach would be ideal.
Roach has dramatically improved JR and he is very good with durable fighters that can use their chins instead of defense ( to a lesser extend Pac his defense is OK). Hell to be honest even Jr defense looked better in his last fight. On the other hand I really don't know how Junior will react after Sexy rearranges his face and neurons.
