it was a good stoppage. He!!, his corner should have ended it after the 3rd round. Khan was shot.

Khan was taking heavy shots from the outset.

Even in round 1, Garcia landed about 4 hard punches. By the time Khan was first knocked down he was beaten. He really shouldn't have been allowed to continue even then.

He should have taken some time when he received that low blow and re-evaluated his plan, because he desperately wanted to KO Garcia, but to do that he was already taking heavy blows.

He should have stuck to his jumping and dancing and just out-boxed Garcia for an easy win.

It was a great stoppage. Look at Khan's body lanaguge. He was done and Kenny Bayless new it.

you don't know that. we have to live in the moment within the scope of a boxing match, and at the moment bayless decided to halt the bout, khan was willing and able to continue.

If it had continued then Khan would've gotten knocked out and everyone would be screaming " why didn't the fight get stopped sooner, Khan was completely off his legs"

His body language looked like he wanted no more.

m8te, he was taking heavy shots from the outset, and it was definitely not getting any better from him, especially after the first knock down.

I can appreciate your support for Khan, good on you. But his whole fight plan was wrong. He should have stayed on the outside and out-boxed Garcia - something he is capable of doing. Even at the moment with his poor defense.

He needs to ditch Roach, work on his defense, stay at 140 and use his height/reach advantage and good boxing to beat his opponents. Simple.

He would have been hurt bad, he was eating some bombs.

M8te,if you really know Khan's face and features, you'd know that Khan was drunk as **** pal.
Not a dig.I can see exactly where you're coming from, but if anything,a lot of refs would have stopped it earlier. He got a very long count first KD.Bayless was kind to him.
I have a go at Khan's out-of-the-ring antics, but I worry that boy is brain damage in waiting.
And that was getting hit in the neck!

listen man, that's a fair post but I believe that khan had his faculties about him. in fact, if you look at the point of the stoppage, it's blatantly clear.

I can't speak for his lucidity at the time of stoppage. Actually I'm going to re-watch the fight right now and have a good look.

I can speak for his body language, and factoring in the way the fight progressed from the outset, I say there's a good probability of Khan getting badly hurt.

I'm sure we've all been rocked before to the point that, we're thinking clear, we want to continue, but our legs are jelly, our motor neurons are shot and hence our reactions, strength, coordination, balance, everything is seriously affected. I know I've been there at least once before.

That's not a good position to be in when facing a heavy handed opponent.

Pity, i'm sorry man but this is boxing. you've probably seen thousands more fights than I, in fact i'm sure you have. you may even know khan's facial reactions better than I. i'm positive of that too, but that stoppage, to me, was premature. he should've been allowed another chance. it's abundantly clear that he was ready for it. the guy may not have the best chin but his heart is tremendous. couple that with the fact that he had his faculties about him and there's no questioning the quality of the stoppage...not even considering the fact that it was a championship bout. wow man, wow.

There are rules in boxing. If you cannot put your gloves up to defend yourself after the count on a knockdown, then you cannot continue. Bayless let Khan away with it after the first two knockdowns. Asked him to put his hands up and he just nodded at him.didn't know where he was. Bayless did him a favour stopping it as garcia was walking through his shots at that point.
