but that was a position he was willing and able to accept at the time of the stoppage, exodus, and as a warrior, he should've been allowed to accept.

there are rules in boxing but in the heat of the bout, even referees forget them. at the point of the stoppage, bayless did not ask him to put his hands up. bayless asked khan if he was okay to continue, in so many words. khan clearly said that he was ready, without hesitation, without his eyes being glazed over, and without flailing about, and as a result, and as a warrior, he should've been allowed to continue fighting.

I know exactly where you're coming from pal,and Khan's heart can sometimes be too big.
But his head wasn't clear.Go and watch the Prescott KO(first KD),and you'll see that face.Watch Limond and Gomez,he's not quite as bad and you'll see the difference.
    When you're as old as me:eek:ld You'll see a similar fight,and say,"You know what,old Pity was right":good

If you really think about it not only did Bayless give Khan an extra long count (after 1st KD) but also allowed him to go nearly an entire rd to recover from that devastating shot towards the end of rd 3. Khan was coherent but his legs never recovered and that was the problem. Fine stoppage. Even Roach agrees with Bayless.

    Lol

    Fair call.

The outcome would have been no different in terms of result, he just would have experienced a worse beating.

But I can appreciate your view, in older times this was often applauded.

If Khan had the power to effect a one punch KO, I might actually be somewhat inclined to agree with you. But he wasn't punching his way out of this one.

No it wasn't. each time he got like 15 seconds to recuperate and was pretty unresponsive. He didn't even touch up pr raise his gloves when asked.

Come on.. Khans career could have been ended if it was allowed to continue.he was beaten, Garcia was walking through his punches.this stoppage was 100% fine.

to be fair to khan he was dominating Garcia for the first 2 rounds and majority of the third. before his no defense glass jaw got caught by a counter and went downhill from the. he is too sloppy

I can't call it "dominating" when he was eating some pretty big shots even in the first round.

Khan would have been killed had bayless let him continue.

Yes, but 2 early, in fact the first 2 rounds aren't indicative of anything in a Championship fight. Well at least not a clear indication of any sort of domination.

However, a 4th round KO actually is a clear domination.

I think Khan could have won this fight, just his whole fight plan was wrong. Roach hasn't done him any favours in training either.
