Too many young fighters looking past their opponents.

It makes you admire Mayweather, who constantly states, he never looks past an opponent. All his time, mental focus and physical preparation is 100% dedicated to the person in front of him.

For a moment after Prescott, he seemed to have got over that habit. Hopefully his ego will remain shattered because he has the necessary skills to be a top fighter (minus the chin, but as Vlad Klitschko has shown you can adapt to hide this fault). He may never be p4p no.1 but he can still pave a solid career for himself if he can acknowledge his shortcomings as a fighter and change his mentality of slugging it out when hurt.

Khan has very little self discipline in the ring, something which Pacman and Mayweather have in abundance.

    LMFAO

Floyd wanted Zab to come forward so he could get the stoppage.

I actually think Khan has marketed himself very well. His only mistake (which was huge) was getting exposed before he got the Mayweather payday. Khan has good hand speed period. There is nothing else in his arsenal that brings him close to elite. Think of how JMM takes him apart. If he gets stopped by Floyd before Garcia, he can relax on the beach for the rest of his life while we have this debate.

The fact that he was mentioned in the same breath as Floyd and Pac is a testament to his marketing and a statement on the state of boxing in the middle divisions. There is no parity. Mayweather stands above all others; there is another level of elite fighters including Bradley, Pac and JMM; a few decent fighters then trash.

:nono Bradley isn't close to the same level as Pac, JMM and Floyd.

Amir can still beat unrefined brawlers. I mean he did beat Rene. Counterpunching and calculated pressure will **** him though.

He barely beat Rene. Could easily have lost a rematch, or lost to slightly-more-refined-brawlers like Ortiz.

I don't think anyone fighting today is on Floyds level. I think Bradley fought Pac to either a close SD win, a close SD loss or a draw. Either decision is fair imo. Whether this is because Pac is declining or Bradley is a difficult style for Pac idk.

Fair point about Bradley though. I was about to defend putting Bradley with Pac and JMM saying that he fits better with them than with Ward and Peterson. After looking at the words, I'm not sure I can convince myself of that. Today JMM and PAC are ATGs, Bradley has a lot more to do to get there. You're right, he fits better with Ward and Peterson.

This is what I think too. He would be able to keep Oritz on the end of his jab imo if he came in with an emphasis on discipline

amir has to learn how to fight when hurt! he doesnt know how to hold and will still trade punches. wtf is roach teaching him?! but maybe it isnt roach, maybe just amir instinctually on his own loses his senses and brain when he is hurt. damn shame because def has some massive skill

Khan's mistake was thinking he had a chin now... that somehow Prescott got lucky thattime.

Khans main mistake is one he has had right through his career; he needs to settle down! If he wants to be a brawling, exciting fighter then so be it, but he WILL lose more. He has the skills, speed and reflexes to be a great boxer but he's choosing the other path. I really thought Freddy Roach would have calmed him down by now :-(

What? :huh If you were a 25 year old boxer earning a few million quid everytime you fight, would YOU retire after your 2nd consecutive loss? :patsch

For the record Amir Khan was asked a pointed question about his future plans beyond the Garcia fight, he talked about Mayweather he didn't gate crash a ****ing press conference calling people out then hit some with a tripod.
He made plans, he has to remake them now because a lesser fighter caugh him sweetly with a blind cartwheel. **** happens. Amir still the best boxer at 140
