He habitually calls punches for a fighter that don't even exist after the opponent is the one who actually lands. Fighter A lands his right on Fighter B. In lampley's world, this translates to Fighter B landing his left. Merchant gets plenty of hate. Some of it warranted, some of it unwarranted, but he has some good knowledge on boxing history. Plus he serves a purpose by going where other commentators don't go by asking tough sometimes rude questions. Lampley misleads the public with all his imaginary punches.
Watch the fight last night, after Khan was down in the 3rd, Garcia comes out in the fourth bombing on Khan, and mid way through the round, Lamps says after being dropped, Khan has come back to take total control of the fight..... Then he gets dropped a 2nd time...LMFAO.. Yes lamps needs to go
I noticed during the build-up for the fight when he and the rest were interviewing the fighters and their trainers that Lampley had glasses on. Those he had on during the interview were wire rimmed glasses that looked good on him, not those funky black dime store looking ones he wears during the telecast. Perhaps it's the glasses that have him calling the fights wrong.
Lampley is way off sometimes. For example, "Good body shot by Hopkins, good body shot by Pascal! Hard right hand by Pascal!!" :roflatsch right at the beginning of this vid [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1_tAULXtAc&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PL7E05B80474A39424[/ame]
Jim Lampley is extremely bias and those hipster glasses makes him look like a fool. Thank god for Max Kellerman, he seems to be fair in his analysis.
He's a disgrace. During the Pacquiao-Bradley fight it was so biased i couldn't take it. He called about 9 million shots for Pacman that didn't land.
