It was a terrible early stoppage but Manfredo was going to get beat regardless.

Surprised nobody has mentioned JCC vs Whitaker yet although I totally disagree with how most people see that one.

 

Calzaghe didnt need any help in that fight despite the premature stoppage

 

Bayless probably felt bad for khan lnowing his backward.

I thought Bayless did a pretty good job last night. As someone else pointed out he didn't deduct a point from Garcia, even though he maybe could have, and he gave Khan a good, long look before allowing him to continue.

Good refs don't just do a 10 count, perfunctorily go through the 'Come to me, give me your gloves' motions and then send the fighter that was just knocked down into the storm again. They look, they evaluate and they try and read how much damage was done. Maybe that takes more then ten total seconds from start to finish, but it's not like Khan was on the canvas for 15 seconds or anything.

..and cole was suspended after this incident.

Yeah I remember that one, it was some weird ****. JMM did well that night despite the cut. I didn't know Cole got suspended for it though.

Disagree. I thought he handled that fight well, and appropriately. He got on Lennox hard, and correctly so, for grabbing and pulling/pushing Tyson's head down, as Lennox had done over and over again to opponents without proper warning. (Lennox probably should have had points off or been dq'd for flagrantly holding Grant's head and then blasting him with an uppercut). Other than getting on Lennox about these foul tactics, he basically let them fight. And by being fair and getting on Lennox for the foul tactics, Tyson did not think he needed to take the law into his own hands, so to speak, which we all know Mike was more than willing to do. Cotton prevented an incident and the fight was allowed to come to its natural conclusion.

 

Yeah but the question wasn't whether the star fighter needed help, it was whether he got it!
