Ali from the 70's whos greatest nemeis was of course Joe Frazier. Joe Frazier's constant pressure and head movement was like kryptonite to the 90 kilos Ali so I wonder just how would Muhammad do against the modern version of Frazier? Now Frazier was 5'10 and weighed around 90 kilos compared to Chisora his modern replica today who is 6'2 and weighs a whopping 112 kilos! Not to mention that Derrick loses none of his stamina carrying that extra muscle with stamina being his main strong point as can be seen from his epic battles with Vitali Klitschko where he gave the older brother as tough a fight as Lennox Lewis did some years before hand and of course against the European champ Helenius where he was robbed blind in what was a true black mark on the sport. So on to the Ali vs Chisora fight. I feel the first few rounds would be close with Ali not having the sheer power that Hayemaker has to keep Chisora honest. Hayemaker probably has more one puck KO power than George Foreman. People forget David is the same size and weight as the young Foreman but of course carries less fat. As the rounds go on I feel Ali starts to take control of the fight and possbly opens up a 2 points lead going into the championship rounds. Here Derrick just goes hell for it, he throws the kitchen sink at Ali never stopping. Despite this brave last effort from Derrick I feel Ali has enough to pick him off and just about steal the last few rounds. Ali wins this on points by about 4 rounds.
Del Boy jabs and dances his way to a close, but clear decision. Maybe a late stoppage even if Ali doesn't bring his A-game.
It's tough to say, i mean, we seen how much Ali struggled against a pressure fighter in Frazier, and let's be honest, Chisora is probably a good 20-30 lbs heavier and a more modern athlete than Joe was. Which Ali are we talking about here? 60's or 70's? If you ask me, the version of Ali from the 60's beats Chisora 9/10, too fast and too slick. From the 70's however is a different story, the speed had deserted him a lot and i think Chisora would have a realistic chance of pinning him on the ropes and grinding out a decision.
I think people are too busy thinking about how Chisora fought against old man Vitali.. Remember here that Ali would have run rings around Vitali... Don't use that fight as a way of comparing and thinking about how Ali would handle Chisora. Lost to a god damn Fury. If Chisora was fit for the fight he would stand a better chance - of not getting ko'd within the first few rounds -
I voted draw btw, as i say i wasn't sure which version of Ali you were on about. Seemed the only fair way to do it
I don't know man. Similar styles, Chisora has a weight advantage and a possible chin advantage, and of course he's a more modern athlete than Joe was.
I don't think Chisora has the power to stop Ali, that might be a stretch. grinding out a points win is more realistic IMO
