'If it was me I'd retire' and 'he should retire' are not the same things. Froch is 35. Amir is 25. Can't help but think this is a bit of an over reaction by the media.
Froch is bitter beyond belief. Definitely has it in for Khan. It was only a few years ago he was publically slating him for being boring, defensive and involved in **** fights. Now he's suggesting he retires after 1 KO loss?
Ok wtf? he lost a fight, you've never lost a fight have you carl? I'm willing to bet Froch took more head damage in the kessler fight than Khan did in the Garcia fight should every good boxer who suffers a stoppage loss retire?
Why the **** does Froch come out with something like that straight after Khan has had his head smashed in? Talk about kick a man when he's down. Never been a great fan of Froch to be honest. Yeah he's game but there's always been something about him i dont like. Too big headed probably. On Khan by the way for me it showed unless he's controlling the fight he is out of his depth in this league. His defence is **** and he has very little power. Shame because i really respected him after the Maidana fight i thought he answered a lot of questions.
If anything Froch has taken far, far more punishment in his career than Khan has. His supreme ability to soak up that punishment and take those huge shots will catch up with him in later life. Froch needs to be thinking about getting out of the game sooner rather than later. 2 or 3 fights max.
Talking about a close decision against Ward.. come on Carl.. Ridiculous overeactions all around. I think the Mallinagi article on the beeb sums it up aptly.
He can definately win a few more fights, make a little bit moremoney, but will end up getting knocked out again he will never be in the elite..
its not like the guy just got knocked out brutally in like 3 fights in a row, it was a very bad result thanks to terribly poor tactics, i see absolutely no reason for him to retire when the likes of malignaggi is still winning titles
