When guys like Ricky Hatton never got a pass for anything? Honestly I recpect Khan as a fighter but his fans are so biased. I remember when he lost to Presscott, that was just brushed under the capet as a complete fluke and his fans would say, " oh you can't bring that up, it could have happend to anyone, it was just a fluke" Then he nearly gets sparked by Maidana and his fans were saying "This proves he has an iron chin, Maidana who is probably better than Ricky Hatton and the shot Mosley Mayweather just struggled with, couldn't knock Khan out. This proves Khan would beat Mayweather" yet people were trying to say Hatton couldn't take a punch because he looked slightly hurt against Urango a few times. When Khan looked like **** against McCloskey Khan fans were saying "Oh well McKloskey is a great boxer, he's about as good as Malinagi you just haven't seen him in a big fight yet." Then the loss to Peterson which was very close but fair imo, I think Khan would have got it in England but still Peterson was hammered by Bradley and Khan's fans were like "the refferee and judges cheated and the only reason it wasn't as dominant as the Bradley fight is because Peterson was on steroids." Now he has just lost to Garcia, some Khan fans have said it was a terrible stoppage and some have said that it was just a lucky punch. Now I agree if Khan went into that fight with a much safer approach he may have won about 116-112 but it would always have been a very close fight imo and he'd always have been at risk of a KO. Khan is renouned for being a fast starter and even in the first 2 rounds he was getting caught clean. Now I like Khan and think he is arguably the most exciting fighter p4p at the moment but he is clearly light years behind Mayweather and Pacquiao and even a prime Ricky Hatton. There are still a lot of big fights out there for him that I'd like to see that he could win Kell Brook, Morales, Ortiz, Berto, Ricky Hatton in a comeback, Presscott 2, Peterson 2, Maidana 2, Mallinagi 2 are all interesting fights that Khan would have a chance of winning. For me he needs 1 or 2 confidence builders where he can work on his defence. He's just been brutaly KO'd and I thought he needed time before a tough fight like Garcia. Fair play, they took a risk and it failed. Let's be honest now the rematch could destroy his career and he needs to take a step down in class and have a few fights at European level to work his way back up. I'm sorry but it's the truth imo.
What is this complete and utter ******edness atsch Someone needs to contact your institution so they can cut back the amount of time they allow you on the internet :nut
I guess you haven't read these forums the past day or so? Believe me, Khan has been getting a rough ride on here (except from no1 fan Go Getta of course)
Khan has not got a pass for anything. He's been on the end of a mountain-load of criticism. The **** more you want the public to do? Lock him up?
What the original poster was asking was why his fans cannot admit his weaknesses? Why do they make constant excuses up for his failings ? Something I'd like to know as well.
Yeah but still let's be honest, people are saying he will beat Garcia in a rematch and that the stoppage was dodgey. I know he is now finally being assessed in a more realistic way but he is still not getting any where near the critisism Hatton got after a fight like Collazo. Most Khan fans are saying he'll beat Garcia in a rematch.
are you kidding me? I would go as far as saying that Khan is THE most hated/critisized boxer on the forum right now! I've never seen such a large scale collective ejaculation-fest as i saw on ESB the second Khan got knocked out on Saturday
Other than King Khan, who just likes to **** with people, bring me one person who hasn't acknowledged Khan's weakness.
To be fair, you have a point. The only one left is Go Getta with this "Khan beats Cotto" nonsense. I haven't quite figured out if he's deluded or just taking the **** yet?
Go Getta is a lost cause. But even he's spoken out at Khan's flaws after the defeat. And with the Cotto thing, he's just one of those people that finds it difficult to admit he's been wrong on something.
Let's be honest, finally now we are seeing Khan get assessed properly, there are still those deluded few but less than a year ago the general consesus was that he was better than Hatton ever was and 20-30% thought he could beat Mayweather.
