Khan's situation vs Hearns's

    Khan gets knocked the **** out by a good prospect and he gets all the **** in the world for it.

    Khan will come back (And I'm not a fan of Khan's) but he's only 25. He just needs some time to learn some defence (Same with what Jones is doing atm with Floyd Sr)

    Tommy Hearns gets knocked out by a major trashcan (43-20, REALLY?) in Iran Barkley and he gets nothing for it.

    Only on ESB. :patsch

    Don't you think that it has to do with him being an ATG and fought all the best in his era and his carreer is over and Khans isn't.


    Don't you think he got alot of **** for that loss back in the day?

    Khan is 25... he still has time to prove himself to be an ATG. Let's not even kid ourselves here.

    It's not like Hearns had a good chin himself :yep. He fought Barkley in his PRIME, not at the end of his career bro. Learn your boxing.

    What I'm saying is that he's still a young kid, still has a lot of time to work on his boxing.

    Hearns didn't get much **** for it as far as I'm concerned. People looked at it as a pass and thought Hearns wasn't 100%. Just excuses.

    Hearns was 31 when he fought Barkley and it was his 48th fight. Prior to that he had fought Curry, Cuevas, Leonard x 2, Benitez, Duran, Hagler, Roldan and Hill. Khan's resume is nowhere near that level of competition and he's getting his chin checked by lesser fighters. It will only get worse since anyone facing him knows his glaring weakness in defense and durability.

    There's a slight difference between the records, accomplishments and talent of Hitman at that stage of his career and Khan today. That might account for the discrepancy.

    Hears got KO'd by Barkley at middle. If Khan goes up to LMW wins a title then gets stopped then fair play but I don't think he will.

    WT:admin?? U can't be serious about this, right?? Hearns didn't get **** from ESB for the simple reason that fight took place during the previous century, actually, during the past millenium, nobody fu***ng cares about it anymore!! Everybody got over it and so should you!!!!!!! On the other hand Garcia/Khan's fight took place 2 (TWO!!!!) days ago...

    Ohhh forgot to mention the li'l not-too-important fact that ESB didn't exist back then.... I'm pretty sure Hearns would've been raosted in here if it did!!

    Agreed.

    Khans rise was fairly average, had a good win against Kotelnik and a close shave against Maidana but other than that his wins seem underwhelming.

    Hearns KTFO Cuevas shocking the world, beat Benitez convincgly, had a historic fight with SRL 1 and lost in style arguably winning the event, beat Duran like no other, beat SRL, had an ATG fight with Hagler, beat schuler, Hill etc etc before facing Barkley

    there is a MASSIVE difference

    Fighter get more **** nowadays because of the advent of the internet, twitter and youtube. So everyday joe's like you and I can spout off our opinions.

    So it's exaggerated 10 fold in comparison to when those older guys fought. The reaction was also different because people weren't so knee jerk in their reactions as they are now because of these social medias.

    Attention span is now at like 1 minute with the average person.
