Knockdown in first round was a slip, was a good fight which booth bossed and schooled casey who had no plan b and just tried to bully booth to the ropes and wing right hands t the body. Most people there and myself had booth a few rounds up, booths left hook to the body and combinations were excellent and his movement and feints gave casey fits. Dave parris scored it 116-112 which was a joke the other 2 judges scored it 115-114 for casey
No chance mate I didn't speak to anyone there who fought casey won. The first 6 were close and prob even and booth dominated 7-9 and casey looked lost but he fight back won 10-11 before booth won the last on my card
I was sat ringside, am being assessed as part of my BBBofC referee training. I had the fight 116-112 for Booth. Casey was strong and the aggressor throughout and the fight swung from one fighter to the next up until round 7 but Booth for me won the last 5 rounds by blocking the big shots on hs arms, slipping and rolling Casey then countering him very effectively. Casey had no lateral movement but the judges obviously scored for the agression but for me it has to be effective aggression. For me Booth was the winner. :bbb
Good luck mate nice to see someone on here getting into refereeing :good. Well it looks like Booth was robbed on the cards, Good to see he still got a bit left in tank as well.
You know what, that's pretty cool. How do you become a referee? This is sad for Booth, and I hope he doesn't retire off the back of this. But it may be his time anyway.
