I'm a huge Khan fan but I have to agree with Steward.

    by Jeff Powell

Amir Kahn risks ending up as brain-damaged as Muhammad Ali if he goes on to fight Garcia in a proposed rematch. That stark warning was issued here via phone yesterday by the master trainer who handled Lennox Lewis before taking over for Wladimir Klitschko, Emanuel Steward. "If Amir fights on there is a real risk of a ring tragedy. Danny Garcia is too strong and too powerful for Amir right now. He could finish up like Ali or worse.Kahn's view of his position in the world of boxing today has become blurred in his mind by his victory over Zab Judah but the truth is that he is a shot fighter. It was just that Judah was more shot. That offered Kahn the perfect climax to his career. He should have gone out on a high after beating Zab."

Kahn has pledged to meet Gracia in a rematch for the WBC, WBA, and Ring Magazine Light Welterweight Title. Steward suspects that Garcia will prevail again and thereby prompt Kahn to retire. Clearly, he believes that would be the best outcome for Kahn's long-term well being.

Ali, who has difficulty talking, has been diagnosed as having Parkinson's disease but few doubt that his condition is a result of brain damage sustained in the ring. He has, however, shown encouraging signs recently of responding to unorthdox ****** gland and dead foetus treatment in Mexico. Steward would prefer not to be in attendance on the night when Kahn takes the one fight too many which might leave him in need of similar extreme help.
He said: "If Amir somehow beats Garcia and the showdown with Mayweather takes place I will work the fight for HBO. But I would be much happier if I didn't have to do so.It could be a terrible night for boxing. "
Kahn, the veteran of several brutal battles in the ring, resents Steward's outburst and puts it down to American propaganda.

Really? Thats what it is? Steward thinks you might suffer brain damage because he's American, not because your egg has been scrambled a few times?

This is why I don't like Khan. He doesn't know when to shut his trap. Or what should come out when he does open it.

Khan is a pompous ass and I knew that Danny with all his patience and toughness would whoop his ass. Danny doesn't move his head a lot but had plenty of defense to stay close and hook. Props to you young Garcia!

Amir is an amateur and lacks all of the attributes and mindset of the great fighters. he shows this everytime he steps into the ring. And, no chin to boot!

I should have read the whole thing before posting. Got trolled. Oops.

Anyway, my post is still partly relevant perhaps:

While I agree with the potential damage, I'm not sure if it is any worse for Khan than anyone else. Ali had a 21 year pro career at heavyweight, Khan has had a 7 year career at 140 and below. Does have a bad chin indicate a propensity for brain damage? I don't know if there is any evidence for that, in fact I wouldn't be surprised if it was exactly the opposite, i.e. Khan doesn't take many shots before he's stopped, whereas someone like Ali later in his career would take quite a few shots and not go down.

It definitely looks worse when someone has a bad chin, but that may be Khan's saviour in terms of health. If he had this macho attitude, and a slightly better chin, then he may really be in trouble.

Also, to say that Khan is shot is comical. He is clearly in exceptional condition, and will be a nightmare for anyone who can't land that shot. Khan will still win top level fights, and he will probably be KOed again. He's only shot when he can't win any top level fights.

if he doesn't learn how to block he'll get brain damage but not from Danny though. It may be from Danny if he doesn't learn how to block. So learn how to block Khan!

There is only one KHAN who fought Garcia.

Kahn is the American spelling of Khan, everyone knows this.

Why you focus on spellcheck error when the article is rich in knowledge from the GOAT trainer?
